"Stayed Here During a Typhoon!"
I'm actually staying here as I'm writing this review. The last time I stayed here they actually upgraded me to a full suite with panoramic views of Victoria Harbor and access to the Club Lounge for no additional charge. I wasn't as lucky this time, but the hotel is definitely quite nice. The service is world-class and I especially like the garden paths and beautiful pool, though the workout room is somewhat small, especially the free weight room, which really only fits 2-3 people maximum at a time. The new lobby restaurant actually just opened yesterday, which features Italian food, but the breakfast buffet is definitely worth getting up for (yum)! Both the harbor views and the garden views are exceptional, just let them know which you prefer. You can get a larger room for the same price if you ask for a "corner" room. I'll remember this stay forever as the whole city was shut down due to a category 8 typhoon (Haima). It was eerie with no cars or pedestrians in a city normally overrun by people and autos. I've also stayed at the Hyatt Regency (which shares gardens and pools), but I think I prefer the Renaissance overall. I'm here twice a year, so i guess that's a good thing....
"Very nice hotel, excellent services"
Overall, its a very nice hotel with excellent services and professional staffs. Location is great, pool and gym are nice. Staffs from front desk to room services to club lounge and lobby staffs are all very helpful and present at all time. Housekeeping responded to my request to change to form pillows really fast and efficient, like less than 5 minutes. Same efficiency when I requested couple electricity adapters. Lobby staffs offered help and held elevator for me without me asking when they saw me carried overloaded shopping bags:) After I checked out at the club lounge, when I got to the lobby level, a staff's already waiting to help me with my luggage to the lower level since their elevator do not reach the ground level with rides drop off and pick up. There's only an escalator from lobby (second level) to reach ground level. Club lounge is awesome, awesome views, spacious, not crowded, food and drinks are very good. For one person, room size is good. If for 2 or family travel, the closet space is definitely not enough. I travel alone for a week and wish there are more drawers etc. Overall, its a great hotel with great services. Definitely will go back in future.
"Great hotel, outstanding service and amazing view"
It is located on the Hong Kong island side, right behind of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center. You can walk to Central District or access the MTR and go to the Kowloon side. The size of the rooms is normal for HK, and they are very well furnished with contemporary furniture. The hotel staff is kind and helpful.
"Just so so."
I booked the Hotel in advance and requested to upgrade to the suite. On September 30, I confirmed my booking and request the upgrade again. But when I check in this time, I was upgrade to the ocean view room only. On the other hand, the power socket of the desk can't work. I have to ask for the repair.
"Brilliant location, room, service"
Great place. Fantastic location, good size rooms for HK, the staff were helpful and wonderful. We had a baby with us and they accommodated her well. The concierge is full of good tips about where to go for excellent local food - so local the place is packed but you are the only white people in the restaurant. Beautiful views. AMAZING buffet restaurant with exquisite quality seafood buffet.
