"Another lovely stay"
We spent a night at this hotel so that we could go shopping and to eat out. We have stayed here several times and have always had a lovely time. Without exception, the staff on Reception are friendly and helpful. We always arrive early and this time as most times, we managed to check in at 9.30 am and hang up our clothes before going off shopping. The rooms are lovely and best of all for a Manchester hotel, it is very quiet at night. the bar is inviting and reasonably priced. This time my husband left his glasses and the hotel have kindly said they will post them back. Great service and a great hotel.
"Great location for shopping, but tired."
The hotel is well located, although its a good 15 minute walk from Piccadily Railway Station. The staff are really friendly, the rooms are very well appointed and the size of the rooms are extensive. The reception area is small and sometimes it can take a while to get served. I would however recommend.
"Great location, beautiful room"
At £150 a night you would expect something phenomenal, and it really was! Reception was gorgeous and the restaurant/bar area was beautiful too. Our room was a good size with two double beds, a TV that knew our name and a stunning modern bathroom. The hotel was central to the main shopping area in the city center, but a fair walk from the Palace Theatre - especially for three not very direction savvy travelers! Breakfast was great in the morning, lots of choice and staff on hand to help if you needed anything else. Only downfall wasn't the hotels fault, but the rowdy visitors. You could hear people shouting outside the window and cars revving and honking below.
"Great Location but..."
This hotel us in a fabulous location for shops, nightlife & restaurants. The hotel reception is lovely, the staff were smart and spoke well. I requested a high floor however we were only put on the 4th! Our room was very spacious and modern however the bathroom was awful. I like modern luxurious bathrooms in hotels and this was like your family bathroom from the 80's! So old fashioned and dated. I would have expected better quality from a Marriott hotel. When we arrived we accidentally drove into the NCP car park - we were there for 10 minutes before moving the car to the hotel car park & it cost £3.50! Then the hotel car park was £18 over night. There was no discount which again I would've expected. Overall we had a nice stay but I do think the premier inn around the corner is much better value, much more modern and cleaner.
"Nice hotel, great location!"
This is a nice hotel in an ideal location for the arena and shops. There are plenty of restaurants and bars in the vicinity too. The room was massive with an enormous bed. Only one bathrobe in the wardrobe which was a bit strange as the room was for two people and only one packet of biscuits which was a bit stingy really. No complaints over the cleanliness of the room but not having proper double glazing meant the windows were covered in condensation so you couldn't enjoy the city view. The bathroom was a bit dated and could do with a spruce up. The breakfast was lovely but we had quite a wait to be seated as they were very busy. I got a great deal on the price and I'm glad I didn't pay the standard rate as I don't think it would be worth that amount. The worst part was the car park. Confusing entry procedure and spaces just about big enough for a mini! Not helped by inconsiderate idiots parking over two spaces!! Overall great location but needs a bit of modernisation and the car park needs improving.
