"Family Theatre trip to Manchester"
We had two rooms on the 6th floor of the renaissance. Both rooms were spacious, clean, well appointed with two double beds in each room. My daughter, her husband & two children in one room, my husband & myself in one next door. The big double beds with fluffy pillows and thick mattress toppers are one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in :) despite extra double glazed window panels, there was some traffic noise and on Sunday morning 'church bells' not really disturbing, but audible. The rooms had tea & coffee making facilities. The bathrooms had shampoo, conditioner etc.
"stayed here 1 night 16/12/16"
i stayed here with my mum sister and auntie to go to the christmas markets and out for a meal, we all stayed in a room that slept 4 adults, these where spotlessly clean and plenty of room, bathroom had everything needed, although couldve done with a little re vamp to match the decor standards of the rooms and everywhere else in the hotel. We had breakfast included int the price this worked out at £65 per adult so very good value for money for a nights stay plus breakfast which consisted of a full english cereals fresh brewed coffee tea and a good slection of juices cerelas croissants ect.. we where made to feel welcome and check in/out was quick and easy. At the bar they done amazing cocktails.. made by the bar staff where very talented at creating them would defo recommend this hotel as the location was very central easy access to all city attractions.
Had a great one night stay here. Never stayed at this brand of Marriott before but this is now my brand of choice. Check in was flawless, and the receptionist was warm and friendly (gave loads of recommendations regarding the Manchester area). The room was very clean and very large. Service in the bar was superb for both food and drinks and the best I have experienced in a a UK branded hotel. The cocktails were exceptional and the bartenders were very friendly and planned out night for us. Breakfast was excellent and the service was superb. Highly recommend.
"Impractical jokers, practical hotel!"
The location is great, literally a 2 minute walk from the Arndale and within a 10 minute walk of the Arena. Car parking is steep at £18 per night but to be fair it's a secure central city car park.... although to gamble with a space there is an NCP adjoining!! I am a gold rewards member with Marriott so have stayed at numerous hotels around the world. I do prefer renaissance to Marriott, the decor is more to my liking. Check in was smooth and I got a room on the 13th floor, the only gripe is there were 2 lifts working and they took FOREVER to get up and down! The room was great. Spacious, the bed was amazing and huge... so soft! There was a Nespresso machine with 4 pods too which was a nice touch, as well as the usual coffee and tea amenities. The bathroom was well appointed and the shower was powerful! Breakfast was also very good. However one small point is things were running low, we had breakfast at 9:30 and juice was low, the loaves of bread (to cut) had gone and hadn't been replaced. But this is tiny! All of the staff here are a credit. Very helpful and friendly. Will definitely return.
"good location, modern and decent sized room 2 night stay with 2 kids"
We just wanted a bolt hole as we were visiting realtives over Christmas who live very near this hotel, as a consequence we only spent a limited amount of time on site. The room had 2 double beds which sufficed for my wife and I and my 10 and 11 year old kids. The bed was comfy, the room was clean and was a bigger than I expected for the price. Its very well located for all central Manchester has to offer. We did have one interesting experience in the bar one evening. We ordered a couple of mojitos and sat down. A 10 minutes later 2 of the worst made mojitos I have ever tasted turned up. The barman had clearly never made one before and they tasted awful. We were just about to send them back when the bar manager saw my wife and I talking about the dissapointing quality of the drinks and came over and offered to make us a couple more. He then spent the next 15 minutes training the barman in the art of making a mojito, after a couple of failed attempts that went down the waste disposal we finally got our drinks, which was now pretty good. As we were having a pleasant evening and were joking with the bar manager about the first (awful) drink we had been served we decided to order a couple more and subsequently drank them. I was expecting the first 2 to be on the house after we'd had to a) wait 25 for them and b) taste the awful first efforts. I really don't know why the barman didn't just say he didn't know how to make one in the first place. Anyway they charged us for all 4 which although correct wasn't the way I would have handled a customer after the initial cock up. No big deal - just i hope contstuctive feedback. I'll use the hotel again on future visits.
