"They are the best now"
My last comment was bad, but hotel apologized. Thanks them for that, but bigger thanks for excellent time. The service is great at all stages of stay. The rooms are big, modern and fully packed rooms. The gym and with pool are 1st class. The breakfast is luxury and tasty. Totally recommend! Thank you, Renaissance Monarch for great stay.
"Good hotel for business folk, passive staff, good breakfast, decent location"
Stayed 3 nights at this hotel between Aug 3-6. Is a good largish hotel, rooms are decent sized, toiletries sufficient, housekeeping quiet and efficient, very slow wifi if at all. There's nothing that stands out - is as expected. i did find the staff very basic - considering is a business hotel would have expected English newspapers. The Metro is walking distance but I didn't attempt any travel on it on my own since all signages across the city is in Russian. We toured the Metro - some pretty stations and is worth a look. Also dont miss the evening boat tour - the city lights are beautiful
"Good choice "
I have spent 5 nights in this hotel for a conference. It is comfortable in term of room and location. The hotel is connected to a shopping mall and supermarket. The metro subway is located 1 km away. This make a strong point for the hotel, especially during the winter season. Traffic in Moscow is crucial all day. It take 4 subway metro station form the hotel to the red square. Restroom and rain shower compartment are new and well function. Fitness room is open all day and free wifi is available in room.
"Perfect business hotel"
Recently stayed at the Marriott Monarch for 3 nights (not consecutive, 2 and 1) during a work trip. Definitely a great place for business! The staff is always willing to help and point you in the right direction (I do not speak Russian), check-on was effortless, and the lobby area is expansive and comfortable. I stayed in a junior suite and the room was amazing. A sitting area with a flat-screen and a half-bath, a well furnished desk with all needed plug ins, and a 4-people round table give way to a separate bedroom with a king bed. My room also had a great view (floor 15) which was a plus. Rooms include a mini-bar and coffee/tea maker, safe, closet, etc. Bathroom was well appointed and comfortable. Gold Elite members have access to the lounge on the 16th floors with great views of the city. Breakfast is served there and they have drinks and fruit in the afternoon. There's 2 restaurants in the lobby. I tried the bar-restaurant area and definitely enjoyed (great rib-eye after being away from home for 9 days). Our office building is next door which makes it convenient. However, the hotel can arrange a taxi for you (recommend you do it in advance to save time!) or you can walk to the subway station 2 blocks away (an interesting one in the winter, but recommended to check out). Hotel is about 1.2 hr cab ride from DME airport and about 1 hr from VKO airport. It has ATM and a small gift/c-store. I will stay here again on my next trip!
"Renaissance Monarch Moscow met our needs and more"
I recently hosted a week long program in Moscow and selected the Renaissance as my venue. Though we were challenged at times in the planning process in terms of time zone difference (USA based planning) and some language, translation and responsiveness, the overall experience and conclusion of the event was favorable. And I would host an event there again. I had 50+ people in from 24 countries. And each guest had nothing but favorable things to say about their accommodations and responsiveness from the staff. I had an upgraded room with a little extra space which was nice. The executive lounge was excellent, two levels and a nice way to escape. The concierge responsive to our requests and helped my guests with many things from restaurants, transfers and things to do and see. The location is away from city centre. But as we learned, location really doesn’t matter in Moscow because traffic is bad everywhere and all the time!!!!! Our main meeting space was a bit tight and as I have learned from running global meetings, hotels are often not entirely accurate in how many people their meeting space can actually accommodate. We had to make a few late changes to the room set-up and layout once we saw it. Way to tight. Excellent food. From the lunch buffet to the break foods to our welcome reception and group dinner. Nothing but praise and compliments. My only issue was the waste. They made way to much of everything and I hate seeing food get thrown away. Hotels are really bad around the world at proper quantity preparation and the Renaissance is no exception. It would be nice if more hotels had programs to donate food at the request of the guests. Keeping food safety in mind. As with a program like this, we had some daily issues, special requests and such and the hotel was responsive and accommodating. And even though there were some language issues and barriers, we managed to figure it out. Excellent fitness center. And some of my guests took advantage of the spa. All with favorable reviews. The WiFi connection was solid and stable the entire time. And the overall hotel security helped keep us safe. The lobby bar is an ideal gathering place with great drinks, food and ambiance. A destination worthy property for personal or business use.
