"STAFF SAYS IT ALL!"
Stayed here mid october for a conference in the city. Hotel has exterior renovations going on and the main roads for the hotel access were closed down or open with limited access. But there were ear plugs to help get a good nights rest. Our room was great, the hotel itself was great but it was the staff that I loved about this hotel. Everyone I met was friendly, kind and ready to help me in any way. Always offering a free bottle of water, directions, asking how things are going. Will definitely be back if in the area again.
"But noisy with all the renovation work"
Stayed here for a conference. The hotel was nice, staff were friendly and accommodating.....however the jackhammer noise from the work being done made the outdoor luncheon less than pleasant. It is just noisy during the weekday so if you are staying here and leaving the hotel during the day, it probably won't affect your stay.
"Excellent space for an event."
Came to the Renaissance for a fundraiser and dinner. It was a great spot to have a large group. We fit 400 in the ballroom with a reception on the pool deck level to start. The food was pretty good considering the volume involved. Friendly staff and good coordination levels. I have stayed in the hotel before, but was only here for the event this time. I would hold an event here again.
"A great hotel "
I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights and found the staff and facilities excellent. It's a little bit pricey. Something was wrong with some of the TV channels so they offered complementary coffee and pastry in the morning in the lobby. This made me think that it would actually be nice if they do it always. I also found the amenities in the room I was at limited for the rate. I recommend this place and would stay there again.
I stayed there recently and it was touted as a 4-5 star. They are not ready for this level. Nor do the amenities meet anything close to that level. They have no room service late at night. The bar is lame and not set up for a good scene. The suite I stayed in had a refrigerator that was empty. There was no honor bar. There was 1 bottle of water. It is at best a 3 star hotel that wants to be something else but it is run as a really nice Holiday Inn. Don't waste your money even though the facade etc is impressive.
