"Charming hotel in a convienent location, but not very accessible towards tall individuals."
This hotel's location is easily accessible via the Valley Metro, and conveniently located/visible from Washington/Central Station (this hotel is the first building you see after departing the train). Heading eastbound, however, requires a slightly longer walk, as the closest eastbound station is the Jefferson/First station. The hallways outside of the guest rooms, as well as the guest rooms themselves, have quite a low ceiling for someone with a height of six feet. Not to mention, the guest room shower heads are built in a fixed position and require tall individuals to bend down to a slightly uncomfortable level while washing their hair. Regarding the rest of the room, the movable reading lights on each side of the bed are truly something to take notice, something I have only seen before in other Renaissance locations. Given the fact that this hotel is currently undergoing renovation, the fact that they were kind enough to place a full-page letter and a pair of earplugs in your room just shows how considerate and caring the hotel staff really is. I can't wait to visit this hotel again next spring!
"EXEMPLARY CUSTOMER SERVICE!"
Let's just talk about service in this review, since you can learn about the facility itself from other reviews. - Good customer service is vital to a hotel's ensuring repeat business, but GREAT service is rare and unexpected that can better distinguish a place that provides a good night sleep to one that provides their guests a great experience. This hotel, which is individually owned, is what I consider a great hotel because of their service. Every staff member is approachable, helpful and considerate. Among the best customer service all around I've experienced in my decades of business travel. The lead concierge, Irma, performs her job with sincere enthusiasm willing to depart a wealth of knowledge about the local area to anyone who approaches her. Her recommendations are accurate and excellent. The staff in the Elevate Club on the 19th floor, Ben and Pamela, are the most accommodating, personable, and pleasant that even the most fastidious of guests would applaud. Understand, this is not just my personal experience from spending 5 days here. I heard it from the 8 people I also brought with me, and many other guests I was around.
"Excellent Even While Under Construction "
I hope I have a opportunity to return once the renovations are complete. The lobby is very impressive as it is. My room was large and comfortable and the service was excellent. The lounge on the 19th floor was the best part of my stay. The staff were very friendly and the food was delicious. A scrambled egg dish, bacon or sausage, and potatoes were available every day in addition to oatmeal, fresh fruit, breads, yogurt, juice and coffee. If I'm back in Phoenix, I will definitely stay here again.
"Great Downtown Location"
This is a great business class hotel. You are ground zero downtown. The light rail is a very short walk out the door. The rooms are clean and the beds provide a good sleep. There is a cafe and room service until midnight. The staff is friendly; and there is a pool and workout room. Note - the hotel is currently undergoing rennovations and there is some daytime construction noise.
"Modern, convenient, great staff."
I stayed here recently for access to convention center. Great room accommodations. The staff was extremely helpful in all circumstances, whether it concerns food, transportation, or questions of a general nature. In general, Phoenix is a friendly, laid back city. They will be adding a Starbucks, as renovations are still in process, and it would have been convenient to grab something quick. They do have a restaurant and every other standard amenity.
