"Quick stay, quick review."
Very good room. Nice food presentation at the lobby bar. Friendly staff overall, all spoke English. Bathroom/shower showed wear and tear and could use some TLC. Cold A/C, Fast Wi-Fi. No issues. Big gym, gets very busy, as it is also a gym club. That staff was not so pleasant. Sauna access for an additional fee. Breakfast was ok. Room service, prompt and good quality. In short, a very good stay with some room for improvement. Repeatable.
"Just don't. Find another hotel if you want to enjoy your time in São paulo"
Do you like the hotel to cheat on your bill and charge you more' Do you enjoy random calls at 6am on your vacation' Fancy the sound of a toilet flush all day and all night' Want an adventure where the hotel security would block all elevators and prevent you from getting into your room' You are into noisey air conditioning that ticks from time to time' I know I'm not. Please, do yourself a favor and stay out of this hotel if you want to enjoy your time in São paulo.
"Consistency is starting to fade"
I go to Sao Paulo for work approximately twice a year for the past 7 years and always stayed at Renaissance for a week each time. Last year I was so happy about the consistency of this hotel and its good services that I wrote a nice review to compliment the staff (see review from 20.03.2016). They were always very kind remembering me and my tastes during breakfast, for example. However, this time I started to notice things deteriorating. For example: one night they decided to send the cleaners to make two rooms beside mine at 1:30am! The cleaners were loud, slamming doors etc. unacceptable when you are trying to sleep for a early meeting next day. Another day at the breakfast Mr. Rodrigo charged me the full buffet price (BRL 72) for a coffee, a plate of fruits and 3 tiny coin size cheese-breads, instead of charging the Continental price (BRL 52, which is already expensive). He was always polite and explained me that it was because the tiny coin size cheese-breads are on the warm buffet side and not with the bread side. Although I understand his position (he was just following the rules) this never happened before. The staff was always kind enough to offer me these tiny cheese-breads as courtesy as they knew I don't eat all the bacon, eggs etc and I also don't eat cakes, yogurt and all that sweet. I got disappointed not only because it was the most expensive coin sized cheese-breads of my life but because this was not the type of treatment I was used to. I don't want to generalize, as they are always very polite and cordial (specially the front desk and the sushi bar guys are lovely) but the small details that used to make this hotel so special are starting to fade...
"Clean, Safe, Wonderful Staff, Good Gym and Lounge"
Stayed at the hotel many times. Perfect for accessing Sao Paulo. Security is great. The executive lounge on the top floor is outstanding. Great food and beverages at night. Breakfast is also served. The staff all speak English and have always gone out of their way to make my trip very enjoyable. I loved the exercise area as well as the spa.
