"A visit to the great northwest"
The hotel was great. Location was very good for many of the local attractions. A new building was being built to the west. The only notification was a letter from the hotel manager indicating that we could be relocate to another part of the hotel (if rooms were available) should the construction become a problem. Should have been a notification when the room was booked. Construction began at 7am even on the weekend. The room had a view to the west of downtown Seattle but the new building will minimize the existing view.
This is in a nice central location. It is up on 6th, though, so if you want to go to the waterfront, there is lots of hilly walking. Check in easy and friendly. Valet ok. There were two valets standing in front and we waited but they ignored us. I eventually went inside and asked to have my car parked and the head bellman came out and asked one of the valets to park our car. Other than that, service was quite good. The public areas are dramatic and spacious. Our room had no view, but was quiet. The bathroom is small, but perfectly fine. Room was good sized with fridge, nice chair, comfy beds. The breakfast was wonderful with lots of choice and great view from executive lounge. I'd stay again.
"Fantastic lounge on top floor."
I was very impressed by the view and atmosphere on the top floor lounge. The windows are huge and an early morning breakfast overlooking the lights of the city (it was still dark outside) was quite a way to start the day. Nice touch with the chai latte machine! :)
"Great hotel newly remodeled"
This was a very nice hotel. Staff was excellent. We had a bad experience with the bar food at night however Maxwells had a great breakfast & lunch. Beds are firm and not fluffy. Complimentary umbrellas.
"Comfort at the top of the hill"
We stayed three nights at this hotel while exploring Seattle. The location is great but boy those hills are steep. You'll definitely feel it walking back up from the water. The Renaissance Seattle is a somewhat large but very comfortable hotel, with a nice lounge and great views from the concierge level. Staff are friendly and the rooms are very clean. Would definitely return.
