"VERY NICE, BUT NOT PERFECT"
I stayed again for our company annual meeting. The room is great. It has a large work space, and LG Flat Screen. Decor is top notch. Tile and Quartz in the bath. It has a fridge, coffeemaker and iron. This is not a place for the value-minded or thrifty traveler. Other observations--Internet service is $12.50/day. Connection speed is very good. Parking is roughly another $10-$12/day. TV service is not great. Reception on some channels is fuzzy, and the guide p[age did not work. The bed was too hard. My room was located on the east side of the building, less than 100 yards from I-5. It was noisy and I had trouble sleeping.
"Good downtown hotel"
I have stayed at this Renaissance twice now. It is a great location - right in the downtown area. Tourists - the Pike Place Market is about a 10-15 minute walk. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The Concierge lounge is one of the BEST in the many Marriotts that I have stayed. For a downtown hotel, the cost is definitely competitive. The only unfavorable comment I have is the street noise. Even at the 21st floor I can hear the interstate noise. If you're a light sleeper it *might* be an issue. I slept well.
"Great place and very convenient"
I was attending a meeting in Seattle and chose the Renaissance based on a prior experience. I mobile checked in in the morning and was greeted by excellent staff. My room was very comfortable and clean. I did go to the Concierge lounge for evening appetizers and breakfast the next morning. All very good.
"GREAT place for recovery"
We selected the hotel because it's a 10 minute walk from Harborview Medical Center. (Note, HMC is on "first hill" it's very uphill if you're not feeling healthy.) We started in an "ordinary" room, which was quite pleasant (though the view impaired by a 41 story building going in next door) and then, after surgery, they were kind enough to move us to a "handicapped" room, which was terrific. Universally the staff were friendly and when we pointed out that safety rails and a walk-in shower didn't solve all problems, they moved several different chairs in to make it easier to get up and sit for prolonged periods. Staff in the concierge lounge were especially helpful, flagging foods that might include allergens.
"What's with the Beds'"
Not the nicest Renaissance I've stayed at, but that's not the reason I'm knocking it down a star. Staying in a room with two double beds (traveling with my two daughters) and these have got to be the smallest, cheapest mattresses I've slept on at an "upscale" hotel. Highlights...elevators go "zoom-zoom" and the fitness center equipment is above average for a hotel.
