Tucked within the heart of the Nation's Capital. Dupont Circle became a hub of commerce and home to embassies based on city plans created by George Washington and his architect friend, Pierre Charles L'Enfant. Dupont Circle has remained an integral part of DC to this day.
The renaissance club room attendant Gigi is a very warm and nice to the guests. Highly recommended to stay at this hotel and get the club room. The club has a full bar and nightly h'dorve. Breakfast is also included
The rooms are fairly small but really nice and comfortable! Anything you need is just a few meters from the hotel. CVS, restaurants, cafes,... the White House is about 15 minutes by foot. The staff is really friendly and gives some pretty good advices! It's really worth a stay!
We had a truly wonderful experience at the Renaissance! The staff went above and beyond to make our stay great. The room, the bar area, and reception area were lovely. Solomon, the doorman, was especially awesome!
"Great Location, Awesome Staff"
Top notch stay! Location is perfect. Close to the Dupont Metro on the Red Line. Very close to Georgetown, Dupont, and Adams Morgan. Perfect central location for heading out to see the sites or chilling out with friends at a trendy bar or restaurant. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was very friendly. Always smiling. Everyone was helpful and cheerful ...the valet, the desk staff, housekeeping, and the club lounge attendant. I felt very welcomed which does not always happen in a busy, downtown hotel. Elevators were plentiful. Never a line in the lobby to get onto the elevator. Parking is valet and they have hourly rates and over night rates. Overnight rate is $49 per night. One minor complaint was that the bathroom light was in an odd location and hard to find in the dark and the mini-fridge was just sitting on the floor in the room. It just seemed out of place. However, these were so minor that it didn't impact my overall experience.
"Very nice and convenient; great value & service"
Stayed here for 3 nights and was quite happy with it. Got a very good deal on the price, and felt like I got more than my money's worth. Location is very good - easy to to get to Dupont Circle, Georgetown and Downtown/the mall and plenty of restaurants nearby. Lobby was nice and no lines to check in or out - they have that process streamlined. The staff were all very nice and helpful... anytime I looked confused someone appeared and offered to help me! Room was a bit small, but that's to be expected with a boutique city hotel. The bed was very comfortable and everything spotless. Not much of a view but, again, I wasn't expecting one. The only minor issues I had were with the TV system being lo res and balky, the in-room wifi ( extra charge, with two choices of speed) disconnecting sometimes and a soda machine not working. I didn't go to the restaurant but I ordered room service a few times. They don't do the fancy table service; your order comes like a regular take-out food delivery in a bag. I actually liked that because it was faster, took up less space in the room and the food was quite good and affordable compared to many local restaurants. The Illy café downstairs made good lattes and they kept up with the demands of a large number of customers. It's nice that you can get a coffee there, sit in the lobby lounge area and use the free WiFi to work. It was quite a popular spot, so, while I had no trouble finding a seat and table, it does get a little noisy. If you want to work a long time in quiet a local café may be more to your taste. There's public transportation quite nearby, and always taxis waiting out front which the staff will hail for you. My advice would be to use Uber, instead, though. DC cabs can be a little grungy and there are lots of Uber drivers around, so you'll probably save money and not have to wait long for pick-up. Overall, a very nice place to stay, and I would definitely stay there again. I was a bit confused about tipping because in NYC, we ALWAYS tip, but the front desk said they no longer take tips for room service''' I feel bad that I might not have tipped enough and, when in doubt, would advise people to tip generously. Many thanks to all the staff who made my trip a great one!
