Tucked within the heart of the Nation's Capital. Dupont Circle became a hub of commerce and home to embassies based on city plans created by George Washington and his architect friend, Pierre Charles L'Enfant. Dupont Circle has remained an integral part of DC to this day.
"Meeting with Congressional delegation"
The hotel is very updated. Slate floors in the bathroom. Very comfortable beds. Very fresh and plenty of plugs and good work space for working on business. The room also has a safe. I found all the staff friendly and accommodating especially the doormen who treated me as their most important guest. They have a great Happy Hour in the bar if you have to meet a friend or client. I loved the pancakes at breakfast with creme freshe and pureed fruit. Heavenly. All of their breakfast items are worthy of a great way to start your day. Reasonable prices. Exceptional service. Convenient to everything. Subway entrance very close.
"A solid choice for a hotel"
We were here over Inauguration Weekend for the Women's March. Staff was very, very, friendly and helpful despite what was clearly a very busy time for the hotel. Rooms are good sized, though I had to squeeze into the space allotted for the desk and chair (I am of average build) and 2 people cannot walk through the area between the bed and dresser at the same time. I loved the Aveda products in the bathroom. We ate in the lounge post-March and the staff was overwhelmed. It took a good while to get our order taken and to get our bill when we wanted to leave. Our room faced New Hampshire Ave and was over the valet area. I did not think street noise was as much of an issue given it is a city hotel, but perhaps ask for a room that is either at an upper level if over the valet area or avoid it completely. We could hear some early morning conversations. It was expensive for what it was-but I know I was there for a very high peak weekend so cannot fairly attest to the value of the hotel. We paid for Wi-fi (a must for us-I had a teenager with me!) and it was very good. A very solid choice for a hotel!
"Great hotel! "
Great area, lots to do within walking distance. Nice gym and very clean rooms. The rooms were small as expected in DC, seemed to be an older building w/updated rooms as the elevators were verrrry slow.
"Expensive but worth it!"
We stayed at the Renaissance Dupont Circle (it's actually about six blocks from the Circle) for the Inaugural event and the Women's March. The hotel was expensive because of the timing - but it was really delightful, They put us on the Club floor which was very handy and nice. All of the staff were incredibly helpful, kind, gracious, all only positive experiences. The hotel provided fun things for the weekend - a singer/guitar player on the elevator, snacks as you stepped of the elevator, a special welcome bag for the Inauguration. Fun!
Customer service was very good, everyone was friendly and helpful. I requested a room on a higher floor and was accommodated without any fuss. Rooms are average size for DC area, bathroom was very clean and offered liquid hand soap which I prefer. Close to both Walgreens and CVS for snacks and necessities. Ordered room service twice and food was great! Prices were reasonable too. I didn't spend much time in the lobby area but it was pretty massive and inviting. There were always guests hanging out there, and plenty of seating available. I travel to DC frequently for work, and have stayed at quite a few hotels in the area. This is one of my favorites, mainly due to the cleanliness of the bathrooms. I will be staying here again next week. I would have given it 5 stars, but I had some issue with checkout and it seemed a bit pricey. Wouldn't be my first choice if my job weren't paying for it.
