"Did not know this hotel was under construction"
I was never notified this hotel was under construction. you had to take two elevators in order to get to your room... only one or maybe sometimes two elevators worked and there was always waiting to catch one. You had to go up 6 floors get off one elevator then wait in line to catch another elevator to go up to your room. If I would have known about the construction, I would have booked another hotel.
"Complete the renovations!"
I cut the hotel some slack with the 4-star rating. In truth the ongoing hotel renovations really detract from the overall experience. They can't complete the renovations fast enough. The room was very nice, but the elevator, lobby and makeshift dining experience were woeful, and it shows on the faces of staff.
"A hotel facing an identity crisis"
The room, new decor and furnishings are all what you'd expect for a boutique hotel. However, the fact that the hotel is under renovation, that there is only a makeshift lobby, and that you will need to take two slow elevators just to get up to the upper floors, makes it all feel a bit inconvenient. The dance club has a very young and wild vibe, which is not at all relaxing if you are not into that thing. Nothing comforting or relaxing for business travellers.
"What is a Concierge' A Man of all Seasons"
Our experience at the Revere Hotel was all about the exceptional service provided by the concierge, John Hallett. We arrived on the 12th of March to leave for a flight from Boston on the 14th of March (the day of the blizzard). Flights were cancelled, all except ours to the Azores at 11:30 pm. Mr. Hallet arranged for us a late check out from our room, checked the status of our flight many times throughout the afternoon, arranged for a taxi and made sure it would arrive (as our car service cancelled ) and simply gave us support and comfort throughout the day. When we returned from the Azores on the 24th, we again stayed at the Revere Hotel. We saw John the next day handling the many duties of the concierge and helping other staff members in the restaurant, lobby, desk. John Hallett is just exceptional in all the hats he wears. He is a kind and caring man. He is truly one of a kind. We will stay at the Revere Hotel again in the future.
was still under renovation but really no interference from construction. maybe after renovations they will have a restaurant to dine in. the emerald lounge had a very small menu, room service menu was good and not sure why they couldn't offer that menu in Emerald Lounge. my room was great, new fresh modern patriotic look and feel.
