Boasting an exclusive location, Riad Algilà is composed of three historically significant homes from the 18th century, which have been renovated in a beautiful Moorish style. Decorated by some of the city's best artisans, this truly Moroccan retreat showcases comfort, history, attention to detail and intimacy.
Surrounding 3 patios complete with fountains and corner lounges, the 12 rooms and suites feature several diverse atmospheres. With its three residences, each with four rooms and suites, the Riad is ideally suited to groups and families, who can rent out a whole residence.
Guests can start every day with breakfast on the sunny terrace while admiring the incredible view of the Medina of Fes. Adorned with Berber rugs, plasterwork, carved wood details and canopy beds, the terrace is the perfect place to savour a mint tea and home-made Moroccan pastries.
Delicious private dinners from a traditional menu can also be enjoyed on one of the three patios, in the lounges or on the rooftop terrace upon request.
For ultimate well-being and relaxation, Riad Algilà boasts expert staff offering treatments with natural products and essential oils, including argan oil, rose extract and orange blossom.
Tucked away on a little alley in the Fes El Bali District, Riad Algilà is close to all the city's hotspots. Guests are just a 15-minute walk from Nejjarin Fondouk and Medersa Bou-Inania, while Al-Karaouine University and the Tombeaux des Mérinides are 1.5 kilometres away.

"Great first impression of Morocco"
Every single detail is supervised in this beautiful riad, for a true personalized experience. Comfortable rooms, nice decor and a very good cook (we had dinner there two out of three nights). Both Fatima & Houda are extremely kind and give you the feel of staying at home.
Our stay at Algila Fes was absolutely stunning. It was by far the best welcome we had throughout our trip in Marocco. The staff were friendly and always willing to help. The food was great; fresh and copious breakfast on the roof terrace and even a packed pic-nic on the day we left. We had dinner there on one of the nights. I myself was ill from our previous destination and the cook was so kind as to prepare a special meal for my upset stomach. It was delicious! Our room "Batul" was beautiful and spacious. The decoration was tasteful and elegant. I had a quick peak into the other rooms and they were all decorated with similar taste but in different colours and tone, to make them feel more individual. We had a few issues with AC and Wifi speed in other hotels, but to our delight it all worked perfectly here. I would very much recommend staying at Algila during your Fes visit. The warmth and helpfulness of the staff coupled with the architectural beauty of the Riad itself, will leave you with and unforgettable experience and a wish to return again and again.
"Pleasant rooms with accommodating staff"
We stayed here in January for one of the coldest weeks of the year. Although most places in Fes are not set up to accommodate such low temps we were grateful for our room at Algila Fes which had heat. The staff even brought up a portable heater for the bathroom. We received plenty of attention from the staff with any questions or concerns taken care of quickly. We were also upgraded to a junior suite. We ate dinner here the first night and it was a three course meal with a soup, tajine, and dessert. There is a rooftop terrace that would be pleasant in nicer weather. Be mindful that there are many steps, some of them uneven as they have joined three old houses into one place. There is no parking as it's located inside the medina which only has narrow alleys. We parked in a nearby garage and they sent a porter to meet us there and take our luggage in a cart. It was about a 10 minute walk to the riad. I have to ad that after I initially posted this review I received a phone call from Houda at the riad thanking me for the review but unhappy that I hadn't given them a 5 star rating which according to her had altered their status on TripAdvisor from 5 to 4 star. I have rated many places and never had interference before from someone. It made me wonder if their rating was inflated to begin with if they were employing these tactics and I wanted to make you all aware of this.
"Must have been a bad day"
The Riad is tastefully decorated and located at the centre of the medina which is a great location. I am sorry to say that the compliments ends here. Admittedly the manager was a nice and helpful lady, the staff were helpful and cordial and everyone probably tried their best. However, we were served frozen chicken for dinner (the Riad later waived the price of the dinner) and although we stayed at a suite for 140 Euros per night, the room was small as compared to other riads. The room was strangely laid out and the hot water barely worked. Every place has a bad day or two, unfortunately my experience there fell on one of those days. For the price I did not feel that it was worth it. It was especially disappointing because we had such high hopes for the Riad.
A haven within the chaos of Fes! The people who work there were incredibly friendly and helpful, particularly the manager. The food was delicious, the rooms were clean, and there was heating (which is key in the winter time!).
