"A great hotel in Osaka "
This is my first time here, both the hotel and the city and I truly enjoy my stay. The staff is very helpful though they may not all speak very good English, they still try their best to help. Everything to me is quite reasonable and when you walk out of the hotel, there's a river you can walk along or go for a jog at the bank. My room is small but that's fine, I like the bed and everything is clean. The best thing' Free shuttle bus service to Osaka station everyday and frequently. If you're traveling alone or simply wanna explore this place, I recommend this hotel strongly.
"Go elsewhere "
For the price and the title of the hotel, do not expect to be staying in a royal hotel. Ventilation is bad- we came in winter time and the room felt like it was summer. The aircon is actually a heater and the dehumidifier does not do the job. The room is very very outdated and unclean. I found numerous hairs on the floor and even in the bathroom (the short kind!!!) if you plan to take a hot shower or bath, be prepared to feel like your in the sauna as there's no fan. The carpet is rolling up in places, the flat screen is tiny, and the internet constantly drops out. The only saving grace was the staff. If you want something for the year 2017, go elsewhere!
"Great stay in Osaka"
Came to Osaka for a conference and chose the RIHGA primarily for its proximity to the convention center. Room was average-sized but comfortable, so I can't really complain on that front. It's a little warm inside but we found that to be the case all over Japan so just cracked the window the let some air in and humidity out. The taxi stand outside makes for easy transport to various places. The Keihan railway Nakanoshima station is also right outside if you want to negotiate the Osaka subway system—we walked most places. Breakfast buffet is really good but also really expensive (~$50 for two people), so we opted most days to just grab things from joints in the area. They also did our laundry for us and the rate was quite reasonable.
"Room is ok but ventilation is bad"
The room is ok and seems clean but the ventilation is bad. If you turn on air conditioning it gets too hot. The bathroom smells really bad and looks dirty. As the hotel is huge the shuttle to and from Osaka Station comes often, but is also often full. The breakfast is really great and you can even use the vouchers for room service which is a great service. There are better hotels in Osaka.
I was a little disappointed by the atmosphere of the hotel. Really small rooms and the overall impression is not modern to me. Old 90's style with carpets everywhere. Also the breakfast was generally average.
