"Lovely Old Hotel"
Very nice hotel with a nostalgic old world charm, and quite well maintained. Reminded us of the grand old hotels we visited as children. Comfortable spacious rooms, helpful and courteous staff, lovely quiet neighborhood along the river. Though the hotel is not very close most tourist spots, the frequent shuttle service to the station was a huge bonus. many stores and a 7Eleven in the basement was nice too.
"An old hotel with much to catch up"
Pros: Very very polite staff. Next to a train station. Every room comes with a set of Pajamas. For rooms with Club access: complimentary tea and coffee pods, a wide selection of toiletries. Spa and Wellness service extends till late night. Cons: During winter and spring the HVAC only blows out hot air. That means the room gets warm and stuffy. You won't like it if you like your room to feel around 25 degree Celsius during the colder seasons. It's a very old hotel so expect the design, furniture, fixtures and electronics to bring you memories of the 80s-early 90s. There is no separate bath and shower.
"A Rihga experience"
The hotel is not particularly well located in Osaka. That said, a train does run to it (but the last stop) and the hotel does provide a very regular and convenient shuttle to Osaka Station. The hotel is stuffed full of restaurants and shops, so one could spend time there, but we ate at cheaper places downtown. The room was small - we knew it would be when we booked - but still comfortable. Would have like a couple more pillows and some coffee in the room, but it was clean and comfortable. Rihga hotels are usually well-priced and have a high quality feel to them, and this one in Osaka fits that. Plush in the lobby, bars and restaurants. We only tried the bar and it was okay, although pricey and allowed smoking, including cigars.
"Rhiga is royal"
I prefer to be at his hotel in Osaka for its convenient location, away from hectic busy Osaka Station, but along a nice river. Hotel provides a reliable a shuttle to Osaka station every 7-15 minutes all day until 1030pm. JR station is 10-15 mins walk across river, Keihan line is below hotel. Staff are very professional and helpful. Hotel room was in the newer tower, space was ample, and room ammenity good.
"Everything you could want"
Wow! This old school Hotel in Osaka is simply wonderful. There are shops of every description, more places to eat that anyone could want, and some truly delightful taverns as well. My Bride and I wandered down to the Cellar Bar for a night cap last night and found ourselves surrounded in a delightful Old English Club atmosphere featuring a piano bar. The prices were quite reasonable. We are planning a wedding here in June so we spent most of yesterday arranging everything from rental Kimonos to western clothing, flowers, meals, invitations, the whole thing in one place. The all day restaurant Remone offers set meals or buffet style meals. You can purchase breakfast coupons very reasonably, The in-house bakery is top notch, two florists, and you can even purchase your new Bentley or Rolls Royce in house if you like. All-in-all this is a wonderful place to stay. The staff is friendly, it is easy to find english speaking staff, or most any language for that matter.
