"Great location and nice hotel"
Stayed here several times when in Rio on business. Once I was lucky enough to get a suite which was amazing, but the standard rooms are pretty much a normal hotel room. Everything was clean and in working order, however I did have a problem getting an Iron to do my business shirts - they wanted me to use the hotel service (but it was too late - I needed an ironed shirt for the next day) - took several calls but i finally got one. Breakfast buffet was good (both normal and the more "exclusive" one upstairs). Location is brilliant - the area feels safe and there is plenty to do.
"Enjoyed our stay!"
We were very happy with this hotel. Stayed for 3 nights and wish it had been longer but we were touring! Check in was no problem and we had a nice large room with fantastic view of the beach. Breakfast was good with plenty of choices and there were lots of great restaurants nearby for dinner. The rooftop bar was good to enjoy the lovely view and have a cocktail. Would definitely return if we come back to Rio!
"Old fashioned and expensive, quite disappointed"
I had high hopes of this hotel but was so disappointed from the moment I arrived. Check-in was a joke, we queued for nearly an hour to get our room key and nobody seemed to know what they were doing. The room was dated and the pipes and water tanks made a painfully annoying noise all night long. We had an awful view of the appartments and their roofs to the left side of the hotel. The breakfast was verging on disgusting so after 2 days we just gave up on even having it. I did enjoy the beach location though and the atmosphere, miles better than the tiny pool. The location is superb but I'm sure you can find much better along copacabana beach.
"Taste of Brazil"
Stayed at this location from Feb 7th-12. Place was horrible! Carpet was worn and dirty. Towels were coarse, well used and dingy. The exterior of the small refrigerator looked as if it hadn't been cleaned for some time. There was no coffee pot or means to make a hot cup of tea. Hot water via room service was R5.50. We went with a group and felt obligated to stay at this hotel. The location without a doubt was perfect, hotel faced the beach with easy access to shops and restaurant. However the breakfast which was included in the cost was a big disappointment. There were long lines for coffee, with only 1 machine working most of the time we were there. So you had a small cup of coffee the first time around, but couldn't get another if you didn't have the time to wait on line. We tried to borrow a clothes iron and was told the hotel did not have irons to lend. Guests had to pay housekeeping to do the ironing. So we walked around in seriously wrinkled clothing for a couple of days. Horrible stay!
"No the better."
It is a hotel that already it has its years. The trouble begins with the excessive delay in the Check in and Check out. The extras such as MINIBAR, RESTAURANT and Wi-Fi are extremely expensive and outside the normal parameters. The quality of care is not good. It was not a good experience.
