"Amazingly Grand Hotel Experience"
I stayed here for 6 nights whilst hosting an intentional marketing event onsite. First of all, the hotel has gone out of its way to amplify the Ritz Carlton luxury that the brand has become know for. This is the largest Ritz Carlton in the world and the property and it's facilities are mostly on a grand scale. The level of service was exceptional (...almost to the point of being too overbearing). Check in and check out was a bit slow but that was mainly due to there attention to detail that they apply to each interaction. The concierge was spot on with all their advise and assistance with external activities such as restaurant bookings etc. The room was in good condition and had a great view of the pool and vista. It was a little outdated, but everything worked and was in top condition. The shower was hot and strong and the AC worked well. Having a sliding door and personal balcony was a huge benefit and meant that you could let fresh air in at night when it cold down. Be warned that as it is a very large hotel, you will find that some rooms are a decent walk from the lobby. Good for walking off the calories from all the large breakfasts. The food at the various onsite restaurants was OK and whilst still expensive, was a little cheaper than some of the restaurants in the downtown area. The BarFly located onsite is a great spot for a drink and party, but as its run independently to the hotel, it is VERY expensive. The level of support and service provided to us during the running the event was really good and made our job a lot easier. Highly recommend this hotel when in Abu Dahbi.
"Best Ritz-Carlton I stayed at"
After my girlfriend and I stayed at the Ritz-Carlton DIFC we really wanted to go to Abu Dhabi and we were amazed. I already have been to Emirates Palace and I have to say that this Ritz-Carlton is very close. The property offers a variety of outlets and is just impressive by it's size. The room design is my favourite so far and really spacious for a superior room. The bathroom is smaller than the one in DIFC. We also fell in love with the design of the bathrobes and next time I will surely buy one of those. So in conclusion I recommend the Ritz-Carlton Grand Canal to everyone! This hotel is a must for all fans of luxury resorts.
"Dated Hotel, Dated Facilities"
We stayed at this hotel for only a single night whilst transiting from Maldives to Sydney but overall I can say that this hotel is very much dated and old. From reception we had to go through a maze of a hotel by buggy followed by a walk through the carpark and what appeared to be a staff service area and 10 flights of stairs just to get to our room. We stayed at the Venetian suites and they were very roomy but very much dated. Ameneties were ok but it took a good 5 minutes of running the tap before hot water got to us (this gives you an idea on how large this property is!) We had to room moved upon check-in due to noise issues from across the water coming from the Shangri-la Club. Better hotels around in my opinion. Not representative of the Ritz brand.
"Great transit option"
Fulfilled expectations of a world renowned hotel. All the services were first class and this coupled with an attentive staff resulted in a relaxing stop over between the US and Australia. Would recommend using the hotel to organize tours and trips of the surrounding areas.
Wonderful hotel with exceptional staff. Club lounge is a perfect way to enjoy your off time. From arrival to departure I can not say a bad thing about the experience I had. Good location near embassies and grand mosque.
