The hotel is dated in its decor. I'm surprised the carpet in our Suite was as soiled. This in light of numerous reviews pointing out this easy fix for the hotel. The suite was awkward in design. Had to climb up to the sitting area. Furniture was soiled and we chose to sit on towels. The buffet looked interesting. But the flies keep us away. The stay was not cheap and for one night approx $ 400 US not a value. Staff was helpful and pleasant. The complimentary shuttle to the port a real plus.
"Thank you for an amazing stay!"
Myself & husband stayed here last weekend and we would highly recommend anyone staying here. We were greeted by a very helpful receptionist Pauline, who efficiently checked us in and even took the time to go through a map and point out where to visit, both tourist attractions and restaurants - her recommendations did not disappoint. We visited beefbar just a short walk from the hotel and we were both very impressed, if you like meat/steak this restaurant is amazing! On the second evening we ate at the hotel restaurant which did not disappoint either. The hotel offers a free shuttle service to the nearby attractions, we were not aware of this prior to booking but Pauline told us everything we needed to know on arrival, this service was fantastic - a free ride to the Monte Carlo Casino and the Palace. (There were other drop off points too.) The service from every member of staff we encountered was fantastic, a true credit to the hotel, I didn't catch his name but a bar tender on Saturday night made all of my favorite cocktails even though they were not listed on the menu and we were charged the same price as the cocktails on the menu, so a special thank you to him for the excellent customer service. This hotel is perfectly located in Monaco and if we are fortunate enough to visit again we will definitely stay here. Our only small criticism would be the breakfast, we ordered this as room service each morning and it was slightly disappointing when compared to the standard of everything else. We were under the impression the breakfast was a certain rate (as stated on the menu) then found out we had been charged a significant amount more on check out, whether this was an error or us just misunderstanding we are not sure, but I would suggest clarifying the rate before ordering as we did feel overcharged for something that we were disapointed with. Overall though we were very impressed with the Marriott Hotel and Monaco - such an amazing getaway!
We had a great stay, our sea view room was lovely, greeted with gorg chocs and fruit on arrival, it was lovely sitting on the balcony watching the boats, it is exactly the same as the photo on The Marriott website. The helicopter port is just opposite which is fun to watch the helicopters coming in and going out. Breakfast was tasty, freshly made omelettes & a great choice of cold & hot with amazing service, sat on the street, again watching the boats and the world go by! The bar staff are fantastic, go above and beyond what is necessary.Food was good too, just had a snack sitting outside with delicious local wine which was offered, quick and very tasty. The hotel is about 15 minute walk in to Monaco, to the port, the palace & all the gorgeous Monaco sights & doesn't seem very far as it's such a nice walk. Felt safe too walking back after eating in Monaco in the evening. We stayed her for a couple of nights before going to Cannes for a few nights and pleased we had.
"Gem in an otherwise bustling downtown area"
I stayed here on two occasions this September, and I would stay here next time I'm in the French Riviera. What made our trip so memorable (birthday trip for me and my girlfriend) was how the professional and helpful (and multilingual) staff helped us with making dinner reservations, getting from A to B (as far away as Menton for a dinner at Mirazur), and helping arrange for a small birthday celebration in our room. Thank you! The rooms are large - with safes for valuables, and spacious closets, and small refrigerator - and the balcony views of the harbor are pleasant. Overall the hotel is very quiet. The location is another great asset, close to a few good restaurants, but among the best situated hotels to walk to all of Monaco. We had a 10mi walk and saw nearly all of the sights in Monaco one day. We found the best croissants in the area to be in the hotel dining room! Be sure to book the hotel shuttle early if you'd like to be taken to the Casino/Fairmont area. We found this extremely helpful as Monaco streets are clogged with congestion and parking is sparse - especially if it's a Monaco FC game night at the Stade Louis II! The pool is a bit too small to swim and do flip turns for training, but so ideal for a quick dip. Watch out for jelly fish if you swim in the nearby beach! The pool bar had a DJ for two nights, which was a bit swanky and hip. No problems with wifi; good enough for quality FaceTime. Elevators are narrow. Parking is easy and the garage connects with the hotel. The check-in is well-staffed by bellmen to help you with your luggage. This hotel brings back fond memories!
"Beautiful view from the balcony"
Clean and spacious room, big balcony with a fabulous view, good breakfast. This hotel is just next to Fontvieille, Monaco, and there are good bus connections to the train station. Carrefour is just a walk away, and the beach too.
