We stayed there with our 11 month baby in the honeymoon suite. All the staff was amazing! They were very friendly, always with a smile!!!!The room was great with an amazing view to Oia and Thirasia. The hot tub of the room helped us to relax and enjoy the views from our balcony! If we come back to Santorini we will definitely stay here again! Highly recommended!!!!!
"Mostly great stay"
My husband and I just got back from our honeymoon in Greece and Santorini and stayed at the Rocabella in the middle of winter. First, the hotel is in a beautiful location. You can't beat the sunsets here--even better than in Oia, and it's perched on top of a cliff, so the views are completely unobstructed. Winter is not the best time to visit Santorini, as we were hit with hurricane-like weather on the last two days of our trip. We paid for a cliff-side room with a spa overlooking the caldera, and the view was fantastic. However, the "spa" is more like a lukewarm bath. It was probably 35 degrees outside, and the water temperature was maybe in the low 80s. It ended up being too cold to sit in. The room itself was just okay...not the luxury accommodations I was expecting. The biggest problem is there is absolutely no ventilation in the room, so when you take a shower, the entire bathroom gets soaking wet, and the whole room becomes a bit suffocating. There was mold growing on the ceiling of the bathroom as a result. It also rained quite a bit, and water started seeping in under the door into the room. It could be that Santorini hotels are just not equipped to handle the weather we experienced, but it did create a mess on the floor in our room. We found the staff at Rocabella to be very friendly, but there was an inconsistent attention to detail. For example, there was no soap in the bathroom, and we had to ask for toilet paper multiple times throughout the visit without it being replenished naturally. Also, service at breakfast was a bit chaotic and disorganized, as there was only one staff person available to replenish the bar and serve all the customers at once. She seemed very stressed unable to handle the pressure. Again, it could be that during the winter months this hotel is a bit short-staffed. We did really appreciate the staff offering to let us stay in another room until our flight left in the evening due to the horrible weather. Surprisingly, the cheaper, standard room away from the cliffside was much newer construction and actually had much nicer touches than our cliffside spa room. We would probably choose to pay less and stay there next time, given the issues we had with our spa room. Overall, this was a beautiful hotel with just a few kinks to work out in the winter months.
"Very Good Stay"
We had a very good stay at this little property.. It was extremely well managed by a small team, given that its off season, and they were very prompt with all possible help all the time. From the time I decided to go there, I wrote emails to explain my comfort and they were prompt with the reply, understanding very well our needs as a Honeymooning couple.
"Room to change "
My husband and I were there for our honeymoon, the view is amazing - it really is you can see oia from your window and that's beautiful the design of the hotel is also very enjoyable and relaxing. Some things makes this place not 5 stars, there were repair men repainting pools while we were there and the smell was not very enjoyable. There is many pools but beware they are freeeezzzing so if it isn't extremely hot you won't be enjoying the pools at all, this has extremely disappointed me because it was our honeymoon and I love swimming. Our last night it got cold on the island so we booked a jacuzzi, the receptionist ensured us it was hot - we went in and honesty shivered our bones away, the handyman came he said he can't do anything so we left (and I must add we became sick a day later thanks to them) when we checked out I needed to argue to remove the jacuzzi charge, that was horrible and mean of the few receptionists there we honestly shivered and there was no one to say sorry, the girl who showed us to the jacuzzi hid from us for the rest of the stay and all of a sudden didn't have her fake smile. Our room was pretty small, the shower leaked all over the bathroom. Breakfast is only served till 10, that's when I wake up on vacation - so I got to try it one morning it was pretty good. Would I return ' The views are great the food is very tasty, the Managment can become nicer more caring and more organized , and definitely no construction while you have guests on honeymoon !!!!
"Our amazing wedding"
We chose the rocabella hotel as our wedding venue because we were blown away by the beauty of this hotel and it's location.every member of staff were fantastic especially Katerina who organised every aspect of our big day. She was amazing from the very start. The hotels location is breathtaking, imerovigli is definitely the best location in santorini due to its high vantage point, also plenty of restaurants nearby. The food at rocabella again was fantastic, with plenty of choice on the menu. The rooms were incredible, mixing santorinis unique cave style rooms with modern decor, just amazing! I can't speak highly enough about this hotel and it's staff, when we return to santorini in a few years time we will definitely be booking this hotel.
