Great location!!! Friendly and helpful staff. Clean. The rooms facing the interior are not so good. avoid them. the rooms facing the street are better but may be noisy on weekends. breakfast is not great. you may find much nicer options outside.Comment of G. Avraham , Israel the 2015-10-13
We had a perfect visit in Madrid thanks to this hotel. Great location, clean, good breakfast, nice atmosphere and good stuff - everything you need for a pleasant trip! We will recommend this hotel to our friend and will be happy to come back
Nice, modern hotel. The service is great. The hotel has a good location, and you can walk around the city with short distances. Good wifi connection. And a really god breakfast, that they serve until noon. Great for those with a good sleeping heart or like to stay out late at night.
"Urban chic with great service on a good location"
I spend three nights at Room Mate Alicia in January 2017, and I really enjoyed my stay. The hotel is designed in an urban an very cool way by a designer, who is not afraid of using colours. Love that! Beautiful decorated room, the double windows makes the room really quiet, even though you are in the middle of a very buzzling area. You are close to a lot of great attractions, bars and restaurants in the lovely neighbourhood. The room was perfectly clean, and there was amenities in high quality, coffee, tea and water in the room. The staff really makes you feel welcome, and they are attented to your needs. I felt really relaxed and welcome during my stay. Breakfast is served next door, and it is a buffet with hot dishes, fruit, cheese, bread and pastries and a good selection of juice, the and coffee. I definitely will be back. You really get great value for your money at Room Mate Alicia!
"Great location great service"
We are Hilton diamond members and since Hilton did not have any properties other than at the airport, we asked friends for their recommendation. They immediately recommended Room Mate Alicia for its central location and pleasant service. We were grateful that Pablo was able to check us in early at 9 am. As first time visitors Pablo recommended the free walking city tour that departs daily from the hotel lobby at 10 am. Later he recommended shopping at El Centro Ingles, a 7 floor department store a short 10 minute walk away. Be sure to visit the lower level for the freshest produce. We enjoyed in season local persimmons, a variety not sold in the USA. For dinner he secured restaurant reservations each night of our stay. Be sure to dine at the oldest continuously operating restaurant in the world, Restaurant Botin established in 1725 about a 15 minute walk from the hotel. Pablo goes out of his way to ensure that guests have a great visit with his vast knowledge of Madrid. The new Doulbletree by Hilton is set to open next month and is located 2 blocks away but on our next vacation we will first look for a Room Mate Hotel because of the wonderful experience we had at Room Mate Alicia. Thank you Pablo for your expertise. next visit to Madrid we will return to Room Mate Alicia
"Deceptive modern look, good location "
I stayed at this hotel in November of 2015 (TA won't let me mark that as a date so I have selected 3 months later for the purpose of this review). I was on a vacation with my family and we occupied two different rooms in this hotel. From the get go when we arrived at this hotel we found it kind of sketchy looking, and the service was very average if even. We booked this hotel because it was the cheapest hotel we could find that was centrally located. To make this easier I will lost some pros and cons. Pros: - centrally located and walking distance to all places. Cons: - poorly updated hotel (felt like a cheaper version of IKEA - if that's even possible) - no Air conditioning (we went in November and it was still hot) - rooms were very stuffy- there was no air ventilation what so ever (probably not the best place to stay if you have claustrophobic tendencies. It was hard to get a good nights sleep. We also complained to front desk about the air conditioning, but they said there was nothing they could do. Overall I wouldn't stay at this hotel again, more would I recommend it (at least for a family vacation) It's location is good, but rooms and hotel kind of put a damper on things when you come back tired after a long day of walking. This may not be a bad place if you're a student on a budget.
