Room Mate Grace rises in Manhattan, just a few steps from the shopping and tourist areas, 3 blocks from Times Square tube station, 42nd Street, Broadway Street and Briant Park. The Rockefeller Center and The Museum of Modern Art are just 10 minute walk from Room Mate Grace.
Fantastic experience, was some noise from the street etc but given the location this was inevitable, it was much quieter than I expected. Cleanliness was excellent, location unbeatable.Comment of O. Sue , United Kingdom the 2016-04-24
Love Room Mate Grace. Just wish the rooms weren't so small but I guess that's what you get for the great rates. Would definitely come back again.Comment of N. Nwanyinma , United States the 2016-02-29
Très bon hôtel pour New YorkComment of L. Hélène , France the 2015-09-25
The hotel was chic, and clean and the staff super friendly, my room was large which is rare for NY. Overall, i think it's a great choice for someone visiting NY, but for me being there on business it just wasn't perfect for me. Wifi was good, gym, sauna & pool looked clean and were nice ammenities, I never got to use. Personally, I liked it a lot in general, and think for the tourist traveler it's great.Comment of W. Magnifica ubicación, muy amables, habitación muy cómoda, tan solo echamos en falta algún mueble más para dejar cosas en el baño y en la habitación. Totalmente recomendableComment of P. Ana , Spain the 2015-05-03
Good design, friendly staff. The only minus was the poor wifi.Comment of A. Pal Laszlo , United Kingdom the 2014-02-22
"Location, location, location!"
This hotel is just steps from Times Square, and with all the sights within easy reach. Still, amongst all the hustle and bustle of the big city, the rooms are extremely quiet. We had a Queen room. Although small, it had all we needed for a few days. The only thing I really missed was some kind of shelf or other steady surface to put a cup or glass on. There was only a padded bench next to the bed, and anything we put on there immediately fell over as soon as we sat down on the bed or even moved. Reception staff was nice and very helpful. There was a luggage room where we could leave our bags on the last day as we had a late flight out of New York. There was also a nice Little pool bar - unfortunately it was never opened on time during our stay. Breakfast was included in our deal. Looking back we should have gone for a cheaper rate without breakfast. It is simply not good enough, and compared to the Room Mate hotels I have stayed at in Europé, it's a disaster. The rooms have kettles and small fridges, so we could easily have bought sandwiches or similar and eaten in the room. I would stay at this hotel again, but I would eat elsewhere.
"Great value and a good night's sleep"
Very well situated hotel at the heart of everything. Room was clean, beds comfortable, and quiet. Shower was hot. Staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place to friends, especially families as they have rooms with two sets of bunk beds in them which would be great for a family of four.
"Very good little place in the just off Times Square"
The room was what we expected having read the reviews and experienced various sizes of NYC hotels. First thing noticed was how friendly and helpful the staff was. Front door to room we were treated kindly. The room was clean and straightforward. Being August, we really wanted was the AC to be on upon return and the room clean. These two things happened daily. The pool is COLD but refreshing on a muggy day. The bar window is a really nice touch. We enjoyed the continental breakfast. The pool/lounge area was a great way to start the day with a decent meal and end it with a drink in the pool.
"Nice hotel, simple room, convenient location"
The location was great! I also enjoyed the pool and the sauna. The bed was extremely comfortable and the pillows great! I enjoyed the toiletries - they were a pleasant surprise. The noise that could be heard in the hallways was a bit annoying. I also am not a big fan of platform beds, but in the end the mattress was great, but the platform was awkward. There could have been more towels in the room.
A really nice hotel with some of the friendliest staff i have met, the hotel it self has a very dark feeling, with its history still evident, a little refurb in some of the rooms would be good as plug sockets where hanging off the walls, but this is a mear smear on what was a fantastic stay, the location was perfect come out of the hotel main entrance turn right and you have Times square less than a 30 second walk, Next door was a really nice bar called Bar 54 (seperate review) which gave you a good view of some of the skyline in NY however for free entry you cant go wrong but the prices for drinks cover the charge im sure. The swimming pool in the hotel is small and limited but my opinion is you dont go to New York to swim in the pool.
