Es un hotel muy bueno, su ubicación es ideal, cerca de todo y en un barrio con mucho ambiente.Comment of P. Alicia , Spain the 2014-10-31
I attended a friend's wedding in Madrid and chose Room Mate Oscar because several of the other guests had already booked rooms there. The entire stay - from location, to breakfast, to cleanliness - was very enjoyable but I was blown away by the service. Everyone we interacted with during our stay from the front desk to the dining room was incredibly friendly and bent over backwards to make our stay as comfortable and convenient as possible. I will be staying at Room Mate Oscar again when I return to Madrid!Comment of G. Caroline , United States the 2014-09-07

"Fantastic hotel, fantastic location "
We have just arrived back from a 3 night stay in Madrid at the Room Mate Oscar. We stayed here as we have used the chain before and again we were not disappointed. The hotel is situated just off of Gran Via, this is central to your shops and bars as well as the metro line. It's a changing station so has links to 2/3 different lines. Our hotel room was a standard room this time and I must say was just as good as the executive room we had in Barcelona. This room had a terrace, which got the sunlight most of the day. The beds are extremely comfortable and the shower is so powerful. Ladies, you do not need to pack your hairdryer as the one supplied is very powerful, to be honest, better than my one at home. Toiletries are also supplied and they are very good quality. Breakfast was your standard continental breakfast but plenty of fresh fruit, pastries and bread to ensure you were well fed for a walk around the city. We also looked at some of the other hotels supplied by the chain and we feel that they are very well presented, Oscar gives the best location. Also, Room Mate offer City wide WiFi with the WiMate.....it's awesome!! And included in your price, however they only have a few but you can have it for the duration of you stay and it's great as I had some difficulty with my service and this allowed me to navigate with Maps etc to find the things I needed to around the city. We have used Room Mate for Madrid and Barcelona and I'm sure we will use again in the future.
"Very good hotel in convenient location"
The hotel had everything we needed and was in a very good location. The room was clean with all of the facilities that we needed (good toiletries, hairdryer, safe and good wifi). We didn't have the breakfast as there are lots of good, reasonably priced cafes nearby. The hotel was within walking distance of many of the attractions and very handy to get to art galleries and park. Only one minor point - we had expensive cocktails on the rooftop terrace and were somewhat disappointed by the attitude of the waiter - he gave us the bill shortly after he delivered the cocktails and then came and asked us to pay before we had finished drinking them, not even bothering to ask if we wanted anymore drinks. However, all of the other members of staff were friendly and helpful and I would recommend the hotel as an excellent place to stay if you want to stay in a convenient location that is not too touristy.
"Great location "
Hotel is in a great location. It's about 2 blocks from the Gran Via which makes it quick to get to but quieter. Room was clean and comfortable. The shower was very good too good water pressure and one of those rainfall heads.
Room Mate Oscar is perfectly located to explore this fascinating city. Located on the edge of square in the gay area of Madrid and only a short stroll to the many art galleries. Check in staff were very polite and helpful, cute also springs to mind. The hotel is very clean, the rooms large, colourful and funky. Wonderful thick blinds and curtains block out all light and sounds. Tapas is Madrid is a full contact sport, authentic Tapas is a must, turn left out of Oscar take the first left and a the first Tapas bar on the right is as authentic as they come, loud, pushy, great beer, lots of food and so much fun. The roof top bar and pool is must for a late night, anytime for that matter, glass of something chilled. There is a local indoor market behind Oscar, upstairs there is fish monger where you can buy fish, a chef on the premises will prepare the fish for you, amazing. I tried sea urchins for the first time, fantastic, the cerviche is worth a try. Albarino wine goes well with most things and is so well priced. A great hotel in a very colourful area, I felt very safe wondering around alone at night.
The room was small but was exactly what we booked. They did offer an upgrade but we declined. Our room, 706, is next to the terrace. They did warn us it could be loud but it was the only one ready in the morning and we badly needed a nap after our flight..... yes, you can hear some music at night but what is a bit odd is that people need to access the terrace through the guest room floor. Maybe is because the 2nd elevator was out, yes, only one functioning elevator, but having outside guests in and out of the terrace through the 7th floor was a bit odd. They did have hotel staff at all times posted to make sure it was orderly but..... And having just one elevator for the entire hotel was a pain at night. I'm guessing is OK when both are working. All and all might consider this hotel again.
