Excellent position in Salamanca. Room was a great size for a two week stay, never felt like I was hemmed in. Mini- fridge was very handy during the hot weather and although we never consumed any of its contents ( we bought our own and stored them in the fridge ) the prices were very reasonable for a hotel! Breakfast was only seven euros but only a continental, still cheap for a hotel and ran from seven a.m to twelve noon! The room was spotless and the housekeeping was excellent. Wardrobes were huge! The only 'negatives' that I could see- no peephole on the door and time for some redecoration! Will stay there again quite happily on my next visit!Comment of W. We chose this hotel because of the neighbourhood from the Plaza mayor.Comment of V. Rinus , Netherlands the 2015-01-26
"a great choice"
Perfect location, close enough to the main square and historic buildings, but not so close that traffic or noise were a problem. Easy walking distance to all tourist sights and a big range of bars and restaurants. Very helpful and welcoming staff, and a buffet breakfast with a wide variety of dishes. If I come back to Salamanca, I'd pick this place again.
"Perfection location in the centre of everything."
Caught the train from Madrid 50 euros return. Walked to hotel but a bus or taxi is probably a better choice. Large room with 3 single beds and a proper couch. Tea and coffee making facilities, fabulous toiletries. Bath and shower and toilet and bidet. Large built in cupboards. Easy walk to all attraction in less than 30 minutes. By far the best breakfast with juices, coffees, cakes, cereal, tapas, bacon, eggs, toast, hams, cheeses.
"Fun, funky and a great location"
We were upgraded to a suite and the bed was so comfortable I wanted to take it home with me. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast buffet is great. We knew about the parking being a challenge and yes, it's difficult to enter and to navigate around but we managed it with a large vehicle by going very, very slowly. The location is brilliant, right in the centre of the old town.
"The smallest bathroom in the world"
Hotel is fantastically located next door to the market and mayors plaza with welcoming staff The garage is virtually impossible to get in and out of unless you have a mini. Unfortunately we had the smallest bathroom ever, extremely difficult to use the logo as the washbasin hung over the toilet . Bathrooms and generally the room was very clean though the carpets a little grubby
"Beautiful and Historic Hotel With Sweet Staff"
It's in an old building with a ton of character directly across the street from the covered market and a stone's throw from the Plaza Mayor. The rooms all seem new but you can still feel the antiquity of the original building. That's important to me in this very beautiful city. The staff are kind and sweet. There's a 30-something girl with short brown hair who really knows the city like the back of her hand and can give you good restaurant recommendations (Vinodario is to die for and the prices are good too) and an older dude with a beard who is very sweet. You just can't lose with this place. Even if your Spanish is awful please try to use it, though the staff all speak tremendous English. Please know that all rooms are different in this old structure. We booked a superior room and it was not what was shown on the website. No matter, it had the extra space with sofa included. You will like it. The included breakfast in the basement is really very good, featuring the delicious and cold Spanish tortilla/omelette.
