"Stunning Building with friendly staff"
Being honest if I could have given the Rosewood 3.5 out of 5 I would have. So why 4 well its the building and staff. In summary, the building is quite stunning, an old Insurance Building tucked away in Holborn and within easy reach of Shaftsbury Avenue as well as eating out places. On entrance as you would expect we were warmly greeted and it was a very easy check in. We had booked a Grand Executive with breakfast; having stayed at the Langham and Intercontinental recently we assumed the level of luxury in the bedroom would be the same, however it wasnt. The room itself I thought was small, the bathroom lacked the normal conveniences you would expect of a 5* hotel in London. However the bed was large and very comfortable, the view down into the court yard was pleasant and there was no noise from the near by Scarfes Bar. We ate out not far away but did visit the Scarfes Bar prior to going and after dinner. A lovely atmosphere with great staff. There is an outside seating area with heated seats, blankets and heaters, a nice touch. At breakfast we went to the main restuarant, this looked beautiful and again warmly welcomed but as we were escorted to a table I began to realise that the seats provided would not suit me. Basically it looks like they have taken the seats from a primary school; I did sit down but immediately got up and told the lady we would go to the other bar/restuarant for breakfast. It was a great shame and the Rosewood is not alone in believing their design consultants that these little chairs are what their clients love! I really wanted this hotel to top the others but for me it didnt, the size of the bedrooms and little luxuries within it are not up to the others.
"Fantastic hotel at Holborn"
I've stayed in the King room for two days in August 2016. I've taken with me three large suitcases and the staff at Rosewood has taken care of every detail during my stay at the hotel. The breakfast was served in an elegant room with plenty of choices on the menu. The room was spacious among hotels in London. And Holborn station is within walking distance.
"By far the most mouth watering afternoon tea experience"
Arriving a little early for my reservation in the Mirror Room at the Rosewood Hotel London was no problem for the impeccable team. The ambience is luxurious yet contemporary and the hosts were poised and professional, but approachable at the same time, which is not easy to accomplish. The table setting was very elegant and polished, but not stuffy. I had the most delicious champagne served in a faceted flute that was as light as air. The sandwiches melted in my mouth and the flavors were perfection. Incredible scones accompanied by delicious jam and clotted cream, but my favorite and something not found often is the lemon curd. The Art Afternoon tea hints at traditional and maintains the presentation one expects from a luxury experience, but the cakes are modern and inventive and inspiring and my all time favorite. This has truly been the best afternoon tea experience I have had to date, so much so that I will definitely come back when next in town and would entertain staying at this fabulous hotel instead of anywhere else. Luxury and tradition mixed with warmth and modernity...truly one of a kind.
I would like to give a 9 which is usually the mark I give as I feel there is always room for improvement but 9 for me would be too low, right from the moment we arrived we was warmly greeted, the staff were perfect and extremely friendly. I would extremely recommend this is you want a relaxing, peaceful and very classy atmosphere! The hotel itself was faultless, we cannot wait to go there again!! I know I've rated everything 10/10 but it really was that good.
"A luxurious night."
We stayed here as a base for my husbands birthday trip to London. The rooms are very spacious when compared to other similar priced rooms here. We had an executive double room, which was very comfortable. The bathroom was very ornate, with marble and mirrors everywhere- very lovely! Our view was disappointing, as the website does promote the excellent views- but we were just looking out to another building, very close too. Excellent service by the staff- all very polite and helpful. We would return for another visit- the location is perfect for getting around London. Holborn tube station is two minutes away, and we walked from Cambridge Theatre and Covent Garden, which didn't take long. The bed was super comfy, perfect after a busy day!
