A good hotel, we managed to get a decent price, although everything is relative as St.Petersburg is quite expensive. We went out of season (so after the snow but before the spring) which made it cheaper. Got the impression St Petersburg is not at its best then, but still a magnificent city and we had a great time. The Rossi Hotel is in a pretty good location, it's pretty high standard of decoration and cleanliness. We had an inner room looking out onto a courtyard - only issue was this was VERY noisy when they put the bins out late at night, and sometimes in the early morning when the bins were collected. The spa is nice (steam room and sauna), the pool is more of a plunge pool than an exercise option (only about three or four metres long). Restaurant is OK, a bit pretentious (European-Asian fusion nonsense ) and a bit expensive - but eating out in the city is fantastic so why bother with the hotel restaurant anyway' (The Armenian Restaurant down the street is great if you don't want to walk any distance on your first evening there)
This hotel is wonderful, the rooms are clean and modern, the service recieved was exceptional, polite courteous and couldn't do enough to make our stay special. The restaurant/breakfast/ bar fabulous food and again the service was brilliant. I cannot praise this hotel enough they go above and beyond and give the impression that nothing is too much trouble.
"Charming hotel "
Beautiful updated room with room. Hotel receptions has good service. The restaurant also have a great selection. The location is good. Bernstein street has nice restaurant portions. Close to Main Street. Would love to stay again.
"Boutique hotel in the centre of the city"
This hotel is nice, in good location on the Fontanka canal: 10 minutes of walk to Gostinnyi Dvor metro station, few minutes to Nevsky prospekt. Staff is very polite and friendly. Spa was pleasant - Turkish and Finnish sauna, small but very beautiful swimming pool - it was free in morning hours. Single rooms were pretty small (a little bit more than double bed fitting in) but the bathroom was huge and nicely decorated. Hotel provided airport and other needed transfers which was about 30% more expensive that you could get on the street, but it was reliable and comfortable and could be booked to the room without any cash involved. Breakfast was good, it was possible to order differently prepared eggs. I tried omelette and this was very good. Few minor minuses: *free coffee was awful like in all hotels, but they kindly made you espresso, americano, cappuccino etc. for additional fee (200 RUB); * no fresh squeezed orange juice during the breakfast, but I believe that it would have been possible to order separately; *no free water in the room (but there was water in the mini bar 200 RUB). Overall - I liked the stay very much and would recommend for others too.
"Great location, friendly staff and beautiful rooms. All in one hotel!"
We stayed three nights at the Rossi. The location is at the edge of the old center. All of the great St Petersburg treats are withing walking distance. The staff is very helpfull, speaks very good english and are more than happy to help you. We found the lunchrooms/restaurants in the city more attractive than the restaurant in the hotel. But it really isn't bad. Rooms are beautiful and the hotel has a great atmosphere. The lack of a good hotel bar and a (bit) better restaurant is all that makes me give a 4-star rating instead of a 5-star.
