"Beautiful place great service cold pool "
The place is beautifully designed, the room is spacious and confortable. Every detail is taken care regarding decoration, food, housekeeping, etc. one big downside is that the pool in every room is so cold, you cannot really enjoy it, even when the sun is high and its hot, getting in is a challenge. If the pool were a bit warmer the place would be perfect
"A glorious oasis"
I'm with Alanoasis in the review below. I feel there must just be no pleasing some people. The review from mjc79 seems not credible to me. Maybe a revenge review for some perceived problem' We are seasoned travelers, staying in many superb 5 star down to 2 star places. These villas are definitely one of the nicest places we have stayed. Beautifully kitted out, very clean, comfortable and superbly decorated. We found every one of the staff extremely pleasant and nothing was too much trouble. Room service menu was excellent and food well priced and tasty. We liked it so much we had many of our meals here. The pool was so cool, no idea how they do it as the usual Bali pool is warm. The bed and all the linen were top class. A comfy pillow top mattress and lots of pillows and cushions. Unless you are from the year 2074 I cant see how anyone could call this outdated. As for the people complaining about visits from monkeys.. hmmm you book a hotel on . Monkey forest road', might that not have been a give away' We only saw them one morning when they di a quick dash in looking for food, they were gone in a flash when they didn't see any. And the complaint that irks me the most' ' The staff didn't speak very good English'. Really' I found all the staff very easy to understand and every one of them was trying their hardest. Here's a thought, why don't YOU try and learn a few basic words of the country you are in! How radical. Can you imagine an Indonesian coming to Australia and complaining we don't speak Bahasa' There would be outrage. Anyone enough of that, do yourself a favour and stay here, its the most relaxing, quiet and enjoyable place. Ignore the idiots.
Myself and my wife have recently checked out of most comfortable and well run villa that we have ever stayed. This was our 11 visit and we would not return if it was not a high standard. We regularly visit Bali twice per year from England to purchase stock for our shop. We have stayed in the Legian club villas, Oberi villas, Kajane and Pitta Maha to name a few. None of these come up to the standard of the RK. Puzzled, yes after reading mjc79 I could not believe what had been written!!! The villa is approx 5 years old it is regularly maintained to the highest standard a modern glass and stone building with a double jacuzzi bath. I have never been asked for a tip and when I have at the end of the visit it was always accepted gracefully. The breakfast order sheet is left in the villa after the morning clean. It is easy to understand with lots of choice. Phone calls to the room very rarely, we have had no problem. The bed is large and has great cotton bedding changed daily, after a very long day "on the road" we need a comfy bed and that is what you get at the RK. The use of two keys, what is the big deal. One for the outside garden gate and the other for the glass patio door to the villa. I would prefer a physical key compared to a card, because how many times have you gone to your room and the card doesn't work!!! There is a privacy sign hanging on the door and it is explained that the staff will not enter/call if that sign is showing and they do religiously abide by it. This is a five star residence at the highest level and we feel very strongly that the earlier comments were NOT justified. Looking forward to our return in October 2017
"Not relaxing, Outdated, Uncomfortable defiantly not 5 star!"
We had high expectations about this place. From reading previous reviews and the photos. The place/villa was very out-dated, Tired looking. The check in was fine, they bring your luggage to the villa then just stand there....maybe waiting for a tip, ether way it made us felt uncomfortable. This was also the case when breakfast was brought to the villa. Saying that, the breakfast was included which was nice...but I felt like the staff pushed us to order breakfast, every time we walked past reception breakfast, breakfast! More annoying than relaxing. Not to mention the 7am phone call - Do you want breakfast this morning' C'mon not relaxing, not very 5 star. I could go on and on... the food that we did have was, meh...so I don't know what the big deal was. The bed was ridiculously hard and lumpy. The walls in the bathroom were water damaged and dirty. Something small but you need 2 keys to get in the villa 1 for the entry door and 1 for the sliding door. Just a bit of a pain when your use to a card. I spoke with the manager about our experience/expectations during our stay I felt like it had little impact. He offered us another villa; I was mainly concerned about our privacy. He didn't seem to understand that when you have Do not disturb on the door it means DO NOT DISTURB.... I feel that the staff need to respect that different people have different needs, which I expect form a 5 star property. Uncomfortable feeling overall, not what you want at a 5 star relaxing couples resort. I will mention that we did get a complementary massage which was nice. But not a big impact on the overall experience. I haven’t even mentioned the monkeys but there are lots of them and they will take your food! Even while you’re eating it!! It did take a bit of getting used to. But hey you’re in the Monkey Forest.
Great location, great service, great rooms. Private pools were fantastic, and the villas are carefully designed for privacy. The included breakfast/tea was optionally delivered to the villa each day at no extra charge, and wifi was great. Nice to have monkeys come by in the morning :)
