"Perfect stay in Paris"
My wife and I stayed at Le Royal Monceau – Raffles Paris for 4 nights in January 2017 to celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary. Our stay at Raffles was incredible from the moment we walked in the until the moment we left. It may even be the best hotel we’ve ever stayed at. A few highlights: 1. Arrival / Lobby / Décor – We were upgraded upon arrival to the next room level up. Additionally, we arrived early and our room was already ready. Check in was very fast and they had our entire itinerary printed out and ready for us (reservations, tours, museum passes, etc.). The lobby itself is beautifully decorated in a somewhat atypical, modern décor. It was nothing like the other palace hotels in paris (le meurice, peninsula, Bristol, etc.). The lobby and the whole hotel seamlessly blend traditional and modern décor. After the bellman brought us to our room and saw how much luggage we had (a lot for a 4 day trip, haha), he offered to store our empty luggage for us once we’d unpacked. First time I’ve ever had a hotel offer that, which was very thoughtful 2. Rooms – Our room was absolutely beautiful. The bathroom in particular is visually stunning with mirrored walls and art in addition to the oversize tub and rain shower. The toilet was separate from the bathroom, which I always like. The bedroom was a good size with a king bed and linen bedding. The décor was eclectic with a lot of interesting art / furniture throughout the room but everything worked together (including the acoustic guitar). The tv was actually in a large mirror at the foot of the bed, which gave the room a very sleek aesthetic. The walk-in closet was quite spacious, as well. 3. Staff and concierge – The service at Le Royal Monceau is incredibly thoughtful and very prompt. It’s probably the best hotel staff we’ve encountered. If you have a question or request, someone is dispatched immediately. You will never have to call for a follow-up. Ever. Also, we are very heavy users of concierge services wherever we stay, but Le Royal Monceau’s concierge was almost unbelievably organized. During peak times, there were 3-5 concierge professionals staffing the concierge desk. They followed up on all requests multiple times and never needed to be reminded of anything. It was truly impressive. We also had an issue where a guest was smoking in the room next to us – they dispatched housekeeping immediately and they sprayed something that completely neutralized the odor. 4. Spa – The spa, pool and saunra / steamroom areas are all truly beautiful. The décor is all white and very ethereal, and everything is immaculately clean and maintained. There’s a very nice, complimentary coffee / tea set-up with fruit and nuts. 5. Bar – We loved the bar’s layout and décor. Great spot to grab drinks before dinner with a well-heeled Parisian crowd My only suggestions for improving Le Royal Monceau would be to have a nespresso maker in each room as a courtesy for all guests (more and more hotels have this) and also to have the house car available during the day (again, a lot of other LHW hotels have this). We had an amazing stay at Le Royal Monceau and we can’t wait to return. 5 stars. Derek
"My favourite in Paris!"
Over the years I have stayed in many hotels in Paris - Le Bristol, Hotel Costes, Le Ritz and Georges V just to mention a few. Recently I have found myself coming back to Le Royal Monceau. Why' Because it has it all and is, in my opinion, the best Paris has to offer. The hotel is stylish yet quirky, The rooms are modern and filled with surprising designer details. The bathrooms have mirror glass everywhere - creating a light and very fresh feeling. You can find objects - like a guitar- placed on the floor and arousing your curiosity. The room have large walk-in closets. The hotel itself is very stylish from the elevators to the fantastic restaurants(Matsuhisa and Carpaccio) and the very special movie theatre seating 100 people(being a film buff I love this concept). There is a very special ambiance in Le Royal Monceau which most of the other luxury hotels in Paris lacks. Try it - you won´t be disappointed!
We went to the Italian restaurant in Raffles the food was unbelievable so good. the staff very helpful and quickly serving. The price is not so cheap but it worth it. Great location and friendly atmosphere.
"Absolutely Incredible! Stay Here!!"
I am actually writing this review about a year late, but it occurred to me as I was preparing to book another 4 nights at this hotel for this coming summer, that I had never left a review the first time around! It was truly remiss of me not to review this hotel promptly after my first stay because they were absolutely incredible! First I will begin by letting you know that I am a self professed "hotel snob." I have been extremely fortunate in my ability to have stayed in some of the most incredible hotels around the world, and Raffles is absolutely among the best of the best. The hotel is gorgeous, the decor is incomparable and the staff is some of the best I have ever encountered. You will read many excellent reviews of this hotel on this site, so I won't go into to many details about the hotel itself, but I will let you know that the staff's commitment to excellence really shines. I arrived in Paris from London and during the taxi ride to the hotel I realized I had left both my engagement ring and wedding ring at the hotel in London. The rings are valuable both because of sentiment and cost, and I was very distressed when I realized they were gone. When I explained the situation to the concierge upon checking in, he immediately went to work helping me find a solution to what turned out to be a shockingly complex problem. The other hotel I had stayed at (also extremely high end, luxury hotel in London) refused to send the rings to me and told me I needed to arrange for a "friend" to pick them up (which, by the way, I don't have a friend in London to call for a favor, I was there as a tourist). Raffles on the other hand offered me multiple options for how to retrieve the rings from their end including sending a courier to hand retrieve them, and helping us to rearrange our fights to accommodate a longer layover in London on the way home. They turned an upsetting situation into one that could be resolved and I am very grateful for their time and assistance. Personal crisis aside, everything else about the hotel is wonderful as well. The breakfast is excellent and had many choices, which I appreciated. The room was incredible (junior suite) - it was spacious, and the bathroom is enormous. I will be staying in a studio room for my upcoming trip (because it will be just me) so I will update this with a comparison! The decor is modern and yet very unique - you really feel like you are in modern Paris when you stay at this hotel. The location is absolutely perfect - a block or so from the Arc de Triomphe, the Champs Elysees, and within walking distance of the Eiffle Tower. It was fairly easy to get taxis from the hotel (but a little tougher finding them back - Paris is much less of a "taxi city" then I had anticipated), and the staff was extremely helpful with dinner reservations an recommendations. All in all, Raffles truly lives up to the hype!! It is pricey but if you're shopping for a luxury hotel in Paris, it's absolutely worth it.
A gorgeous hotel. The look and feel of the place is luxurious and I don't remember a bathroom that looked as opulent. I do not know how to play guitar but there was one in the room so I had a go on it before going to sleep! Apparently David Luiz stayed here when he moved to PSG and I can see why. A top hotel in a lovely neighbourhood
