Very helpful staff. Food good. Well situated. Location close to Copacabana Beach. After our stay we flew to see Foz do Iguacu Falls (unmissable) before flying back to Rio for another 2 days. We had no hesitation in picking this hotel for our extra 2 nights. What higher recommendation can be given'
I visited many countries and hotels but such an awful hotel and such a rude and impolite staff - never met. The hotel is located few blocks from the beach but the near vicinity not so pleasant, especially at night. I got the room nr 317, very small - no place for one suitcase, with a very noisy air-condition and the size of the bathroom - less than 2 m2. The second room was for a disabled person (which I am not) with even more noisy air-condition. After many discussions the room was changed to room nr 509, where water was falling from the ceiling. Than the " very nice" receptionist adviced "to sleep on the sofa near reception". Awful, rude, avoid this hotel!!!!

Bonjour à tous, This hotel is great ... such amazing hotel, breakfast is amazing .. swim-pool on the top floor with a lovely bar. BUT.. i've had the worst welcome in my life in a hotel, i've reserved this hotel 6 months before .. .. everything paid… i arrived at this hotels after a long flight late at night. the guy at reception was the worst receptionist EVER .. i did not have my credit card with me which one, i’ve done my reservation this card has expired .. but i have done picture of this card with me just in case, everything paid 6 months before, i had a new card to give as guarantee .. the guy at reception refused to give the room when i said to him, ‘excuse-me Sir, this is a new card .. i’ve the copy.. he stop everything .. and said i can not give the room to you, if you don’t have the card you have done your reservation. i start to cry… i live in paris .. i’ve been flying from Dubai to Rio .. long long flight. .. then, he ' said to me, i will debit your car now .. you will pay the room everything again.. and tomorrow with the hotel manager we will check how to solve it… ‘he so so rude i speak Portuguese, my lucky’ otherwise .. he would call the police .. i've never been so humiliated ..pay everything 6 months before to arrive at the rio and heard it... I cried i’ve get scared, the i get the key. The receptionist, he never told me nothing .. about the hotel and the service, where is breakfast how do it.. or give a city plan .. he just drop off the key at the desk.. i take my bags .. i took a wrong lift for the staff, i was stressed .. nervous and crying… back to reception no one never help us .. i found a new lift .. when i get in the room, my phone was ring .. before find the room, the receptionist once more .. this is reception I WANT THE PHOTO OF YOUR CARD NOW.. I’M WAITING i don't have internet on my phone... i back to reception i BEG for the wifi .. the receptionist .. give the code ... making me a favour .... send to him by email ... he says ok.. BUT give me your new card.. tomorrow from 7am you come at reception to solve it ... i'm giving to you the room, but i'm doing YOU a favour ... normally i most not do it ... i give my passport - the copy of my card by email, a new card .. and he said to me .. i'm doing you a favour ..... the next day i back to reception .. the reception says everything is all right ….never understood. i've never seen this guy after this day .. a man about 40yr old working late shift... the receptionist who works during the day was great .. in my last day i give some souvenirs to them the key rings of Eiffel tower ... ( arrived 07 September 2016 about 23H )

This hotel is very average. Pros - Close to beach Lots of eating options nearby Close to train station Onsite restaurant and bar, with free breakfast Affordable Cons - Wifi is highly unreliable and you will have to use one of the 3 computers on site IF the internet is even working. I usually don't care about wifi because I like to disconnect on vacation, however, not being able to use Uber or Google Maps or Yelp or WhatsApp or other communication, is a great inconvenience while on a trip. Air conditioning is okay once it kicks in, and this can take a while because the electricity in the room is only activated by key card. Pool area is tiny for the size of the hotel so you need to wait for a chair or spot around the pool. No airport shuttle but taxi help is offered and was pretty quick.

I am not one to complain but we're to start the electric went out in all of the building in the night but this meant that the a/c was not on then went down stairs to find a truck across the front of the building with a generator on the back of it pumping out lots of black smoke to address the no electricity,building work at the pool side, light switch hanging of the wall, a stair on the bridge over the pool a piece of plastic tubing propping it up, I had to go to reception to change my key card 7 times as I could not get in my room ,the continental breakfast did not cater for the brit's but can I say the staff were brilliant very helpful.
