"Perfect Location "
My husband and I visited New Orleans this past weekend and chose Royal Sonesta due to its convenient location on Bourbon St. Staff was nice. The issue we ran into was the fact that there was mold and mildew on our shower curtain and a thick, dirty film inside Keurig. I would have liked to get a more sincere apology from Manager on Duty.
"Great staff and location "
We had a great time and the staff made it a great stay. It started at check in, we got in early and we got our room. The manager Quinten and the front desk staff were vey pleasant. Over at Desire oyster bar Kentrell is the best but watch out for him. Kitty at the bar was also great. They make you feel at home. The entertainment in the jazz club was outstanding. It was a lot less then what we pay for live jazz in NYC.
We loved this hotel, it was just stunning. We did have some minor annoyances, so let me get those out of the way. We were checking in with a very large group. Some people's rooms were ready and some were not. Ours was not, which was no big deal it was early. We were told we would get a call when it would be ready, probably in about an hour. 3 and a half hours later we went back to the front desk and our room was still not ready. Many people in our group that had arrived way after us had received rooms. When we asked why this happened we were told that it was because they are Travelpass members, which is the hotels rewards program. Now, we know everyone in our group and not one of them subscribe to this program. This was an outright lie. That made me very angry. I understand that things happen and rooms may not be ready, but do not lie to us. That is not ok in my book. My husband pushed a little and magically they found a room for us. Interesting how that worked... The other annoyance was the housekeeping. They were there every day and very prompt but did not do a good job. I found so many crumbs and pieces of hair and it was just kind of gross. Also, one time the maid left her phone plugged into our charger in our room so we had to find her to give her her phone back. While this is not quite an invasion of privacy, it is right on the edge. It makes you wonder what else they do in your room... Ok, with that being said I really wanted to rate this hotel lower than five stars but I just cannot. The people were amazing, the hotel is beautiful, the pool is lovely and they just go out of their way to make you happy. The most impressive thing to me is how they maintain such a gorgeous hotel right in the middle of the grossness of Bourbon Street. That is quite a feat, in my opinion. Thank you for a lovely stay. We will definitely recommend your hotel.
"A nice oasis on Bourbon"
We were a little nervous about staying right in the middle of Bourbon. However, entering the hotel is like stepping away from the madness...the lobby is quiet and elegant. The staff is professional and very helpful. We were on the fifth floor so we did not hear much street noise but they do offer free ear plugs in case you are on a lower floor. Room was clean and bed was very comfortable.
"Nice Property Right on Bourbon, for better or worse"
Nice Hotel. Well kept. Good staff. Restaurant ( R'evolution, NOT impressed or recommended ), Jazz Club, Bar, Coffee Spot, Pool. Pool area was smallish but pleasant with an outdoor bar. Room was standard issue, but in nice condition. Bedding so-so with no comforter/Bed Spread, which we found to be an odd and not so great arrangement. Staff promptly brought us a blanket on request. Superb location right on Bourbon St. Did R Club for morning breakfast, which was decent. R Club has a patio outside, which was great in the morning. But expect smokers too. Revelers coming in late Saturday night was irksome. If I came again, would opt for a BnB to avoid that issue. All in all a nice, tasteful Hotel. Safe Bet.
