"Lakeside Resort - Lovely View"
I was here on a business trip recently for three nights. I was fortunate to be given a very large room with a massive balcony overlooking the lake. The view was very nice from the room. There is a beautiful swimming pool, tennis courts. Business centre leaves a bit to be desired. Printers need to be replaced badly. No ice machines at all so you have to call room service and pay for ice to be brought to you. Considering this is a resort where a lot of large conferences are held, the resort doesn't have an iron and an ironing board in the rooms. When I phoned reception, I was advised that the hotel doesn't have irons to lend so you have to send your clothes out with housekeeping for cleaning/pressing which is hardly convenient when you need your clothes immediately. The breakfast buffet was very nice with a lot of choices. The little outdoor bar near the pool was a nice spot to sit and have a casual drink and food. The bar in the main lobby offered excellent food and was reasonably priced for a resort.
"One night, alright"
This is the second time I have stayed at the Royal Tulip. Definitely one of the better hotels in Brasilia. Check in is slow. Be ready to wait. But the room is clean, the staff are pleasant, and the pool is beautiful. I ate at the pool bar, the breakfast buffet and the pub. Reasonable prices, good quality. The Itali sandwich was quite salty, but tasty.
"Good, not Great"
Stayed here for the second time recently. Always a quick stop for me. I travel with groups and the check-in process is always painfully slow. The rooms are nice and clean. I had 5103 at the very end of the hallway. It was very quiet but did have an odd shape because of the shape of the hotel. No issues with the room other than a lack of outlets for phones and laptops that are close to the bed. Beds are very comfortable and the bathroom was huge but didn't have any wash clothes so I had to use a hand towel to wash my face. Went out to pool for a bit. It is a very nice pool. There is food service at the pool and a little pool bar where you can order food. A couple of negatives this trip. I was in the gym for a total of 3 minutes before they told me it was closing at 6:00pm!! This makes absolutely no sense. Hotel gyms should be open until at least 10:00pm, if not 24-hours a day. It was a nice gym but, sadly, I wasn't able to use it. Went back to my room and ordered room service. They told me 30-min for delivery. I had to call them back twice and it took over 90-min for delivery. Food was very good and has been good in the past but it took so long. I like this hotel. It is very quiet, quality of sleep is always good. But it is isolated from the city and eating options are a bit limited.
Stayed here on two ends of a business trip in Brazil, so I had the experience of checking in twice and staying in two different rooms over the course of a week. Both times, the service was great, and the rooms were superb. The breakfast buffet was very good with plenty of choices and variety. The pub/restaurant wasn't great, but it was certainly ok. Wish it had more/better beer choices and the food was just ok. Rooms are spacious and quiet. The only downside is that the hotel is a bit isolated, so getting out and about in Brasilia takes an effort. Added bonus for my trip was seeing some rock stars around the hotel who were in town for a big concert. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Brasilia.
This resort is without a doubt the finest in Brasilia. The rooms are superb: gorgeous bathroom with shower stall and tub, dual sinks. The bed I had was enormous - bigger than a king. The sheets were immaculately clean. The well stocked refrigerator and the snacks were a glad sight. I ate in both on-property restaurants; both were excellent. The pub was my favorite: great atmosphere, good food, nice people. The pool is the biggest pool I've ever seen. Actually, there is more than one pool: a kiddie pool, a warmer pool, and the really-really-big pool. I only swam in the last one, because the water temp (I was there in January) was perfect. But the real key to successful and enjoyable travel for me was the front desk staff. They spoke excellent American (yes, I know we don't speak English!). Since the use of English is not typical in Brasilia, this was a God-send. The staff at the Royal were above and beyond helpful, friendly, and patient. I will be comparing all other resorts to the Royal from here forward.
