This place is in need of a major renovation! It is severely outdated! The first room we were given had a old metal desk chair in the corner for sitting and a lumpy bed! The second room a least had a normal upholstered chair but the bed was still bad. This place is not worth the money! The only good thing about this hotel was the breakfast and our waitress.
"HORRIBLE NOT HILTON STANDARDS"
I only stay at Hilton on vacations because of their business luxury reputation The Palms Ocean Veiw King Room is a DUMP for one We drove 13 hours and was very disappointed I don't live like this. Everything outdated and dirty I should have known from the elevator this was going to be bad there was broken boards in elevator The carpet in hallways and rooms are disgusting and DIRTY and lifting they are so dirty that's why such a bad odor I guess Then I looked at the curtain in the hall OMG dirty is an understatement now Our room no surprise just as nasty I immediately took all the covers from bed which the bedspread not comforter to me looked like something I would have thrown away years ago The bathroom actually has a tub with a shower door like a Motel I've seen in bad movies. You know a room is unkept when dirt and scum is in every corner of the room the curtains IN THE ROOM again Should have been thrown away years ago OMG I don't want to touch anything I should have read the reviews and the loud water heater & furnace that keeps going on & off Really....I just arrived late and want to leave I am not Use to a Hilton with these standards I am proud to be a Hilton Honors member and am embarrassed for this experience I wanted to bring my family here on a regular basis so I wanted to check it out WOW. ..Then we went to see if Hilton side better Pretty Lobby with Starbucks and but the setup resembles a Motel 6 Iam not sure of the rooms but if the Palms is supposed to be better then they have to be worse. Please if someone from Mgmt reads this review looks like from the reviews this has been going on for some time This could be a nice place if it were clean & updated Pull the carpets & curtains get decent bedding and clean the rooms my phone is so old it had dust on it & brown on the cardboard like a Motel. Customers choose Hilton for clean modern & updated without having to guess I left out and dreaded going back to my room If the room was clean & updated I would have at least not been also so disappointed with the slight parking lot ocean view with every one looking at us in other hotel...Price is not a factor if Your a Hilton Customer invest in the property and The $$$ will come This is Hilton money should not be an issue... But until they get it right If Your standards are not high the place is Great.
Rooms need updated and staff needs to be nicer. We switched room 2 times. I lost a garment bag and trying to find someone that cared and help locate it was terrible. Left message for the manager and never returned my calls, I had to keep calling.
"Spring break 2017"
We stayed in a 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom condo on the 20th floor. We booked through Hilton so we had daily maid service. Our room number 07 had views of the Hilton hotel and the resort pool. I called prior to arrival and asked if the pools were heated. I was told they are but they were very cold. I was also told I could choose my room on the app but that also was not true. Kimberly at check in was wonderful and knowlable. Every employee at the Hilton was extremely friendly. We purchased papertowels, napkins, a sponge, beach chairs and food at the nearby super Wal-Mart open 24 hours. We took the shuttle once and waited 20 minutes to go to the sports center. Most chairs by the pool were reserved by 9am so go early if you need several. The food at Cafe Amalfi was delicious with beautiful views. The condo was pretty but the furniture needs to be cleaned. The balcony is a good size and views of the coastline are incredible. We were told by the bell man that the resort was sold out. The food service around the pool was great and they always had plenty of towels. This is a nice resort in a nice area if Myrtle Beach, SC.
"Very disappointing. Not a Hilton."
We came here with Hilton Grand Vacations in order to learn more about their timeshare program. If they were trying to use the stay here to impress us and persuade us to purchase their program, they have failed miserably. As I sit writing this, it is 4 pm on the afternoon of our third day at the Royale Palms. I am waiting for housekeeping to come and clean the room. My wife and I just returned from an afternoon out and the room hadn't been made up. I called the front desk and was told that they would let housekeeping know that we were ready to have our room done, and that housekeeping was "still out working..." Not trusting the front desk to make sure this happened, I went down the hall and found (I believe) a supervisor and told him the problem. He came in and took our towels and left clean ones and waved at me on his way out the door. Surely he wasn't finished' Again, not leaving it to chance, I went after him and asked him if he was going to do anything else. He asked me what I would like to have done. I told him I wanted to have the room serviced as normal. So he found a housekeeper to come clean the room... This was what finally pushed me to write the review. I had overlooked the long lines to check-in, the long wait for an elevator, the failure of guest services to answer numerous phone calls on the hotel phone, the lack of dishes and silver in the kitchen, and the three hours it took guest services to send up dishes and silver after I walked down to the front desk and told them about it (they wouldn't answer calls). But this was too much. While a number of the staff were quite pleasant and helpful, this wasn't enough to make up for the other challenges we faced. The room itself is nothing to write home about, sort of like a very nice Super 8. An incredibly small TV and very tiny kitchenette. A small table with two chairs. No large comfortable chair to sit in or a desk to work at. With the Hilton name attached to it, you expect a certain level of quality. I did not find that here. A very disappointing experience.
