"Dear St. John Villas, Mykonos-Greece"
Welcome to Mykonos! As you guys remember, I went from Athens to the two most popular islands in Greece, and Mykonos with Expedia Gold, a site dedicated to curating the best hotels for you. We headed to Mykonos to enjoy six nights on the beautiful island and checked into one of the hotels from Expedia gold, Saint John Villa Hotel. The cute, minimal look of the check-in area felt refreshing, as we sipped cold glasses of water with ice cold rags for our faces. We were escorted to our room where we had a beautiful villa, yet charming balcony that overlooked the beach. Cutest! I was greeted with a cup full of water and a sugary fruit on the bottom that looked too pretty to eat. What I love about the Expedia Gold site is that it gives you a breakdown of what to expect and some key points to keep an eye for for each hotel, it’s kind of a life saver! The yummy breakfast was always worth waking up to, followed by quick dip in the pool (that is the largest in Greece) before we headed out for the day. The hotel was a few minutes away from the little town where all the shopping and restaurants were, so it was easy to grab car service from the hotel to take us. (which was complimentary) We enjoyed strolling through the narrow streets that almost felt like alleyways. They were filled with high-end and kitschy shops and the cutest restaurants serving some of the best Mediterranean and italian food you’ve probably ever tasted. Although, everyone kept telling us that Mykonos was party town, we must of gone during off-season because it was extremely calm. We didn’t do any partying, but I genuinely enjoyed having a relaxing time with one of my best friends
This hotel is situated in a setting that makes for fantastic views from just about every location on the grounds. The pool and beach area provide for excellent scenery. The grounds are very well maintained. The room was clean and well appointed. Service from staff was helpful. The only negative would be the food - it was very good, but not great. Typical of buffets, there was a good selection of choices, and everything was fine, just nothing was outstanding. But the hotel, grounds, and staff, make up for this. I would recommend this hotel for just about anyone.
"Truly amazing views"
Room with a view ! Our room was small but adequate, balcony very small could not fit 2 on it but there was rooms with slightly bigger balconies, food was ok, some of the staff especially waiters are very rude and need to remember they need holiday makers to pay there wages, it's not my fault your a waiter ! Having said that there was some exceptional staff, the concierge lady was very, very good and very nice looking to, reception staff were amazing and a few of the waiters were great and friendly, word of warning the drinks at the hotel we're ridiculously expensive €5 a small bottle of beer €4.50 for a coke €10 for a cocktail, the mini bar was totally ridiculous prices, eating out can be expensive but there was some really good restaurants
"Saint John Hotel Mykonos"
Our experience of Saint John Hotel and Spa was fantastic. The hotel itself is beautiful, the rooms spacious with stunning views from the balcony. Buffet breakfasts were a highlight with huge delicious array of options. Dinner unfortunately was disappointing, I would recommend staying on a bed and breakfast basis as there are many many wonderful restaurants in Mykonos town..in particular 'Avra' and 'Nice and easy' - both fabulous. The spa facilities are nice but extremely expensive. The hotel has many stunning lounge areas to enjoy and it's own private beach, very relaxing and kept very clean. A highlight of the trip were the staff, who were eager to be of service, however the concierge namely Elena, Elena Liampoti who literally made our trip the most fabulous, treasured and magical as it could be!!! She was so friendly, professional and helpful at giving us advice and speaking to companies on our behalf..totally fantastic!! Saint John - a strong recommendation to stay!
"Attitude on the phone"
During our visit to this property recently. Our trip was mired with difficulties as we were affected by the general port strike in Greece (something you need to check before you come here). As a result of it, we need to extend our stay in Santorini for 1 night. Would you think this hotel care or try to help if i tell them the problem to get to their hotel' So i gave it a try, but so unexpected, the lady on the phone was very unfriendly, all she can say is "nothing we can do", no empathy no solution no nothing, anddddd she hung up the call, i repeat again she HUNG UP the call. It was the reservation team. I lost my sunglasses in the pool area, so I came to the reception and asked if they have lost and found department, she said she will check to the pool staffs but wrote nothing about my report. I said i will come back and check again to the receptionists in 1 or 2 hours, then i came back, i spoke to another lady (different one with the one i spoke before about my report), i told her i made a report of losing my something to her colleague earlier and wanted to check if they found it, she checked nothing, ask me nothing, but told me straight away they did not find it. No empathy at all. The receptionist or reservation team really need more training in handling conversions and how to behave on the phone. They seems want to finish the conversation as soon as they can with no good manner as you would have in 5 star hotel. This is not a luxury hotel at all.
