"Standard room is TINY with NO privacy!"
At first impression this hotel looks impressive. While checking in we were asked to pay 1000 baht deposit fee which seemed a bit strange as the last two hotels we were at in Koh Samui and Koh Tao never asked. After checking in we were driven to our room, only to find that we were basically sleeping in the guest house of another room. There was absolutely no privacy with not even a solid wooden door between your room and the guests across the small hall, it was like a bifolding door with a curtain... There wasn't even enough room between the bed and dresser and tv stand to open our suitcases and pack properly before we left. I'm generally not claustrophobic but this room was sure making me feel like it. After 30 minutes of trying to adjust to this room I finally couldn't take it anymore and had to phone reception to organize an upgrade. We were upgraded to the private pool villa for around an extra 2000 baht per night, this room was much better but definitely not worth that much money. In this room we had a leaking air con which needed to be fixed TWICE in an hours period. This resulted in about 3-4 staff members being in our room for at least 30 minutes a time which was at times awkward for us because we were lounging around as we were tired from the trip over. Come to think of it, the staff were never really that polite or happy when trying to fix the air con. It was almost as if we were annoying them. After fixing the air con for the second time one of the staff members cleaned the leaking water on the floor with a ragged old towel; this towel was then left in our bathroom which was disgusting as I picked it up at one point thinking it was something of ours! Room service food was OK but there seems to be absolutely no communication between the person who takes the order over the phone and the person who brings it to your room as we requested to pay by credit but the staff member bringing it to our room was clearly annoyed and didn't understand when we didn't pay cash on the spot and told him we let another staff member know. The day after we checked in my partner became very sick and needed to go to the hospital. He was unable to walk to reception to get in the ambulance so I needed some assistance to get him out of the room so I called reception. Reception sent some help but before doing so firmly reminded me to come and pay my room service bill now before leaving for hospital. This clearly was not my first priority while I had a stumbling, vomiting partner to look after but of course I wouldn't leave without paying! All in all I was very unhappy that this was the last leg of our trip and wish we had of stayed in Koh Samui as we discussed the night before leaving for Koh Phangnan. We decided not to waste our money as we couldn't get a refund the day before but that would've probably been the best option as we had to spend an extra 4000 baht on accomodation anyways..
"great pool on the beach, amazing beach"
We traveled off season and got great value for our rooms. The rooms are amazing and all have beautiful views of the ocean. Only problem is the hill is very steep and you have to rent a motor bike to go to your room (or try to get a room on the bottom of the hotel, closer to the pool. But these are pretty expensive) Excellent staff and room service. Good Wifi Great breakfast, good bar. Good for families and couples. Beautiful beach, amazing pool, great messages on this beach. Haad salad beach is an amazing place in general!
"Nice place to stay"
We stayed 5 nights at the end of our trip, it is well located by the beach of Salad Beach, with the restaurant on the beach at night (however we've never tested it). We were in a small room in one of the villa on the hill, the room was small but with a beautiful view on the resort and the sea (my friend found it to small but for me it was really charming... tastes and personalities!). We then upgraded to a more luxurious room with jacuzzi on the terrace with a view on the sea ! Very clean, nice bathroom in both rooms. Just be prepared to climb a little bit to access to the villas on top of the hill! The breakfast was nice however not a lot of choices but perfect for us. The people were very nice with us and helpful! It is a perfect place to stay and to relax on a very nice beach with restaurants very close and commodities (like bikes renting nearby).
Sadly we only had 3 nights here I wish we could have stayed heaps longer. Our room was lovely with a gorgeous view. We were a bit disappointed that the spa didn't work but it was still lovely to sit in the great big tub on the deck.
"Awful! Dont go!"
This hotel was very bad expirience for us. We booked 4 nights. We were asked to pay at the check in. The room we got was at the top of a hill (about 70 stairs up from the pool) Not much view because of the trees. The room was small!!!! No place for our things. We went down to the pool 3 quite small pools, no pool bar. Staff is bad!!!! Not nice at all! Try to charge you for ecerything! They didnt gave us back any baht and we left the place after 2 hours. At the area there is few resturants but they are not tasty and expensive, also the prices of massage. If you want to go out of the hotel you have to order taxi from the reception and its expensive. The road is far at the high of the hill, not very easy to climb. Dont go!!!! The bay is beutiful!
