"Visited over Christmas "
We stayed here in May but returned with the family for a Christmas vacation in San Antonio. Kid friendly and very nice accommodations. Staff is super nice and was very knowledgeable about the area and attractions that were open Christmas Day. We will be back in the area and stay again.
"A very nice property"
Nice room, nice amenities, great location, great staff. No complaints about the hotel itself. I do think that the $33 per day valet parking and $27 for self parking is pretty high as is the $12.99 WiFi but I guess you charge what people will pay. I do have a friend who flew from Houston rather than drive as that was less than paying parking for 5 days. Anyway, other than that it is a very nice facility.
"Very comfortable and convenient "
This hotel in the heart of downtown San Antonio makes getting around so very convenient. Located within sight of the Riverwalk that San Antonio is famous for. I can look out the window and see the river and the convention center, so it's easy to get to both. Enjoy eating on the river' Well with little effort you can be at just about any of the wonderful restaurants there, or all the clubs and bars there. Then there is the short walk to San Antonio's most famous landmark, "The Alamo". What trip to San Antonio would be complete without seeing it'
"From Bad to Great"
This one of those cases, where you just have to talk to the right person. I arrived, along with my wife, for a 5-night stay linked to a conference on a Thursday. I had reserved a room months ahead of time, and I thought it would be a suite. However, I was actually assigned what is called a "hospitality room" (Room 618). This was because the receptionist insisted that there were no suites available, and I so I had no choice but to accept this room. When I entered the room, I quickly saw that this was not the room for me. This "hospitality room" did not have a separate bedroom, as I expect from a suite. The big screen television is positioned on the far side of a large room relative to the bed, and that means that a whole living room area comes between your bed and your television. You may need binoculars to see the TV. The "Murphy bed" is constructed so that the hinges of the doors partly encasing the head side (once the bed is fully deployed) will be at eye level to you. If you don't watch yourself, you can take an eye out just turning into the hinges as you sleep. I called back to the hotel reception to see if I could get ANYTHING but this room. I wanted to speak to the receptionist who had assigned me to this room, but luckily I got someone else on the phone. This person said that, of course, there was a suite available, and she did not understand why the receptionist had said that there was not. So, in minutes were were transferred to room 3436, a genuine suite with separate bedroom and living room areas. What a great room it was. It had everything I wanted, including a magnificent view, all the amenities I could want (including a small refrigerator), and a large vanity in the bathroom. Otherwise, the location is ideal. I stayed in the Marriott Riverwalk across the street back in 2004, and the Rivercenter is a far better location. One reason is that it is on the side of the street directly adjoining the mall and many eateries are located at the lower levels of the hotel. You don't have to cross any street to get good food or access the mall. If I return to San Antonio, I will definitely stay here again, but I just have to make sure that they give me a suite, not a "hospitality" room.
"Great place "
My family and friends visited San Antonio for New Years We stayed at the Marriott river center. I actually was shocked at the hotel it was in good condition staff were extremely friendly and Tried to accommodate our request of high floor with two rooms close by! The view kinda sucked only saw the hotel back and roof tops of other building but overall not a bad stay. It's practically on the river just have to take the escalators down and through the doors and boom right on the river walk even though I feel it was the tail end of the whole river walk it was fine! They have a river walk tour right outside. Close to fireworks too! Parking was a bit expensive and if u aren't a Marriott reward member u pay for wifi. I would def re visit this hotel .
