If you are reading this then you are doing your homework about where you are staying. I will not reiterate the obvious, like the property is not actually on the beach, etc. I will say that I have gotten sick of all inclusives and vowed not to vacation at one again until my husband suggested this gem. The Carlyle is more like a bed and breakfast with a great bus to the two other properties with beaches and amazing food. Make sure you request a room on the third floor. If you don't like street noise bring some ear plugs. First place ever that I would actually rebook for a second time. Basically we would eat breakfast at the Carlyle, go to another Sandal resort by a 10 minute bus ride to spend the day, come back shower, head out for dinner and then return for a late night hang out at the Carlyle bar. (Frankly I think that is what most Carlyle residents do.) When you got back to the Carlyle they knew your name and drink:) Cannot beat the personal service, amazing. Lamar at the bar is legendary. We had a couple of minor room issues and the Carlyle staff was all over it and resolved things quickly. Again if you have done your homework on trip adviser you will have read that the rooms especially those not on the third floor need updating. But even with that, you are still getting an amazing deal and experience. I would definitely go again.
"Best vacation ever"

"Wedding at other Sandals property"
We picked the Carlyle for the value compared to Sandals Mo Bay. We slept and ate breakfast here, but spent entire days and eves at Mo Bay. Room was comfortable and much larger than some I saw at Mo Bay. Shout out to chef Rajive for making a special Jamaican treat just for us. And Jorvan at reception for making us feel welcome and helping me with a phone charger issue.
Staff at the Sandal Carlyle was great, I felt like I was at home with family. Love ❤️ it. Travis and Danial is an asset to Sandal. Besides the room I was assigned 108; taken care of right away and move me to 207. First floor rooms are not to be assign to guess, please take care of these room. Everything else was great 👍 all of our needs were met and the options of being shuttle to the other Sandals 👍Winning 💕 It
My wife and I stayed 3 nights at the Sandals Carlyle before traveling to another Montego Bay resort to attend a wedding. The resort was clean and adequate, however, the "Sandals Brand Luxury" was definitely not there. The Good: *Transportation to the resort was quick and painless. Once we arrived the staff could not have been nicer or more attentive. Within 10 minutes we had a drink in our hands and were finishing up the check in process. *The people we me while we were there couldn't have been nicer. We made several new friends and the best part was that since it was a small resort, we would run into these folks daily. *The location was perfect. It was a 10 minute walk to the Hip Strip which includes one of the best Margaritaville's that we have ever been at. Contrary to what people say, it was a safe and friendly walk down there. Yes, people do ask you to shop in their stores, but if you politely say "no thanks" they leave you alone. *There is no beach DIRECTLY attached to this property as displayed in the photos provided by Sandals. There is a very small public beach across the street that is available if you wish. I did see several tourists using it. *You are allowed access to the other Sandals properties via a quick and easy shuttle buss ride right from the front of the resort. Door to door service. It's about a 10 minute ride. The other Sandals had some of the best food I've ever eaten. Well worth the trip even just for dinner. *The fitness center was great! Updated equipment, some free weights and a weight station. Very clean and never super busy! *The entire resort was exceptionally clean..........all the time. You rarely see plates, cups, etc lying around. Chairs and tables are organized. Everything was very orderly. *We had a petite penthouse suite which is a fancy term for the third floor facing the ocean. The view was perfect for us as it overlooked the small beach and the street in front of the resort. We spent many evenings just sitting not he balcony watching the world go by. A lot of people commented about the noise and commotion in front of the resort, but we enjoyed the entertainment and wouldn't have wanted it any other way. *The bed was very comfortable and there was a nice flat screen TV in the room. Some people complained of noise from the street. There was during the day, but that added to the charm of the place. It did quiet down at night and was not a problem. *Room service food was AWESOME! We did have one dude that was a bit crabby that delivered it to us on our 2nd night there, but the quality and quantity of the food was great. *The bar staff was very attentive and the drinks were good. They had a fair selection of hard liquor with a few premium brands. Red Stripe and Red Stripe Light of course. *Staff was always quite friendly although it was obvious that they did seem to cater to the return guest of which there were a lot of. Now the "Not so Good": *The first disappointing this is that there is no liquor in the room or beer in the fridge. The "stocked fridge" consists of 2 Diet Cokes, 2 Cokes, 2 Sprites and a few small bottles of water. Thats it. The pics on their website display a stocked liquor dispenser. A matter of fact, there is still a fancy back lit walnut cabinet with a glass door that once dispensed said liquor hanging on the wall, but it was shamefully empty. As in no bottles in it at all, only holes in the bottom of the cabinet where it was once dispensed. I am not a raging alcoholic, but we enjoy sitting on our balcony and having a quiet drink away from the crowds at night so this was a BIG bummer. Had we known, I would have picked something up at the airport before our arrival. This was easily resolved when we took our walk down the hip strip as there were lots of shops that sold liquor. *To piggy back on the liquor cabinet. I called the front desk to ask if some could be brought up to our room. I would even purchase it from them. The front desk told me they had to check with the manager and would then get back to me. "Cricket, Cricket........". Never got a call back about this during our whole stay. FAIL! *Eating there was weird. One morning we had the option of made to order breakfast and it was very good. The next morning we arrived and were told the only option was the buffet. As we sat down to eat we noticed several tables around us have made to order food brought out to them. Weird. The next day we were again told buffet was the only option but when asked if we could request made to order entrees they said that we could. Again, very weird. *We did not eat supper at the formal restaurant, however, we did stop back at the buffet area one night for dinner. Staff had stopped by at breakfast to tell us about some dancers they were flying in for the evening entertainment and also about the fabulous "International Buffet" they were having. We decided to try to eat on site so that we could take in the entertainment after. I watched out of our balcony for about an hour and saw very few people at this buffet. When we went down to look at the food choices before eating there, we could see only a few small serving trays were set out. There was very few options and not what I would expect as an "International Buffet". *No ice machines. Instead, on each floor, there are 'ice tubs". Yes, a large rubber maid cart with and open top and an ice scoop inside. I was praying the whole time that people were washing their hands. Ugh. *Oh, and one other really weird thing. There were types of liquor that you could get at the other two sandals when visiting (Like Jameson), but this was not available at the Carlyle. Strange. So.......with all that being said, would we stay at the Carlyle again' Probably not. I would instead stay at Sandals Montego Bay (which had an awesome nightlife and great food) and then use the shuttle to the Carlyle to get to the Hip Strip. It was a good stay, but certainly didn't knock our socks off.
