My wife and I just returned from our Honeymoon at Sandals Negril, this trip could not have been better. We stayed in the newly renovated two story honeymoon loft with butler service. At first I was leery of the having a butler as this is normally not our speed however Orlando and Gawayne were very relaxed and laid back with impeccable service. The beach was 25 feet from our villa with a cooler of water and beer waiting daily. The food was amazing with the Japanese restaurant being our favorite next to the candle light dinner on the beach was is a must do. I would highly recommend this resort however I feel that the experience wouldn't be the same if you don't go butler level. we will defiantly be back!
Went to Sandals Negril and had a amazing time. We had our wedding there and stayed In the swim up lagoon. We had the best Butler ever!!! (Myron) he simply went above and beyond in my opinion. If you happen to go you can request a Butler. I would highly recommend Myron. Because of him mostly and all of the staff my wife and I had booked another trip before we had even left. Highly recommend the Sandals resort.
"Another great vacation at Sandals Negril"
We just returned from our 6th visit to Sandals Negril and had another great stay. We've been to several different Sandals resorts over the past 20 years and have been loyal to the Sandals brand. The food was great as well as the staff. The resort has gone through some renovations since we were last there as well and looks great. We stayed in the swim up crystal lagoon suite again for this vacation and it was lovely as usual. My one complaint is that Sandals has in the past year or so switched their pool floats / rafts over to a cheaper version of raft / float and the new style is very hard and very uncomfortable. The pillows on these rafts are very hard on the head and the raft itself is short (my husband doesn't fit on the new rafts because he is 6' tall). It doesn't sound like a big deal, but when booking a swim up room, we look forward to lazy days of napping the pool floats in the beautiful beachfront pool. We didn't spend much time in the pool this trip as a result of that. If you were a first time visitor to this resort then it wouldn't be a big deal, but after years of enjoying the comfortable pool floats at different Sandals resorts, we were a bit disappointed in the down grade, especially after paying for a top tier room. We are considering revisiting Couples Swept Away for our next vacation instead of Sandals because every chair on the beach comes with it's own comfortable pool float, the style that Sandals had in the past. I'm assuming that these new rafts are cheaper than the previous style, but please go back to the old style. Other than that the resort was great, food, staff, accommodations all top notch.
"Perfect Honeymoon "
Sandals Negril was beyond amazing! We arrived Sunday evening and while we were getting settled we ordered room service since we had not eat since breakfast. Antoinette was the one who brought us our meal & set it up in the room. My husband asked for a bottle of wine and champagne & she was back within minutes! With the honeymoon package you get breakfast in your room (different from room service) one day, again Antoinette was the one who came & set up. She asked us if we had chairs reserved yet on the beach & went out & saved us some! We continued to request her all week. All the food was great! And the drinks were always made perfectly! Also there was always someone there to take your picture, which was great most of the time! Jeffery was who we had our 30min photoshoot with & he also made sure to come along when we went snorkeling to get some under water pictures! Jerome 'Fergie' did an awesome job capturing my husband wake boarding! We absolutely loved it here! Quite & peaceful with lots to do! We didn't want to leave and look forward to returning!
"Loved Sandals Negril Jamaica and the wonderful island people"
This was our first trip to Jamaica and we loved the island and the people. We were there to spend our anniversary from 10/7/16 to 10/14/16 and were so happy that the weather was sunny after the hurricane came through. First thing I'd like to say is it's worth paying for the club level concierge room. With that you have a person that meets you when you get off the flight and they walk you quickly through customs and take you to the lounge where you get a cool drink and snacks and wait for your ride to the resort. Problem was the snacks were non-existent except for a few left over cookies and once you get your drink everyone disappears...still no big deal. The most agonizing part was the ride from the airport. In our case we were in a small van with 2 other couples. The drive was frightening. The little towns along the way have very narrow, curvy and crowded roads with people walking/standing all along the edges. There are no passing lanes so the drivers play chicken to get around slower moving vehicles trying to get you to the hotel in a timely fashion. We had a nice driver who pointed everything out but wow it was a long drive of 1:45 minutes. Again, that is a small issue because once you get to the property, you soon forget the journey. Sandals is a beautiful resort and you get excited to begin your vacation when you see it. When you arrive you are given a cold cloth for your neck which is wonderful and you are taken to the lounge where you are offered a lovely drink while you check in. We were feeling the island vibe up until the check in manager/concierge arrived. She was all business and acted more like a drill Sargent who had no social skills. She was demanding you move quickly when she called your name etc. There were no niceties or smiles at this point so she killed the warm fuzzy feeling that you had to work to get back. Sandals, I would urge you to check into this as there were many folks saying the same thing. We took a cab later in the week to Ricks Cafe for the sunset. Wow what a fun place. Great entertainment, a happy, happy feeling of fun.We also took a cab to Margueritaville about a mile down the road so very close. if you go there make sure it's before sunset. We arrived after and the place emptied out quickly, it was not a comfortable feeling. Oh before I end this very long review I want to let you know that my husband got a foot injury that was a flare up of something he'd had before. It was very painful so we went to the on-site nurse. She was lovely and so sweet and helpful. She felt he needed to see the doctor who was there within 40 minutes who again was professional, patient and so pleasant. He got two injections and meds and they followed up with us afterwards. You can feel secure in knowing that there is very qualified medical care available should you need it. We chose a room that was ocean facing close to the beach and it was very nice at the club level. It was a long climb up three flights but we made it work. Loved the overhead fan and although the temps and humidity were very high the air-conditioning kept us cool. The bed was comfortable but hey guys, do something about those pillows. Most resorts allow you to pick your own pillow type and that's a definite plus. The grounds were lush and well manicured. The ocean water was very warm and the beach was soft white sand with very calm ocean waters. The beach itself was narrow, it looks much deeper in the photos. We went out early every morning to reserve our chairs before the butlers took all the good ones, seems to be a constant complaint at all Sandals resorts. We ate in many of the restaurants and the food was generally good although for someone like me who doesn't eat red meat, pork, fish etc. the choices were few. I do eat white meat chicken and the Jerk style was good but having that every night was boring. I was surprised that the restaurants did not serve a pasta and veggie choice for people like me. All in all we enjoyed the restaurants and the lovely people who would always greet you with a warm smile. I want to call out Shelly Ann who was a wine sommelier at Cucina Romana (great place to dine) she was just lovely. She was welcoming and happy to do whatever she could to make your vacation enjoyable. There were constant vendors walking the beach but after a while we had a few favorites. There were two Jamaican men with dreads and the whole color scheme going on. They had an old guitar and would stop and play if the guests were interested. They played the Bob Marley Redemption song for us which I loved. Their spirit was so pure. i will upload a photo of them and my husband singing and playing on that fine sunny day. Nothing is ever perfect but this was darned close. I would return but would probably take a helicopter in and out of the resort next time. Enjoy your time there, it goes way too fast. *Jamaica Mon* nothing like it. We loved it!
