"Friendly service, great location"
I recently stayed at the Sandton Brussels Centre for a long weekend trip, and was pleased with my stay overall. Pros: All the staff I interacted with were very friendly and helpful. The wifi was fast enough for anything I tried to do with it and was easy to connect to. The location was great, close to all the city center tourist things, and only about a block and a half from the central train station, which made getting to/from the airport easy. Cons: I had to remove the cover from the shower drain and not run the water at more than 50-75% of the max water pressure, or else the shower would overflow and flood the bathroom. There was still enough water pressure at this reduced rate to have a decent shower, though. Also, the view from my room wasn't great, as it looked directly into offices a short distance outside the window (and presumably they were looking back at my room). This wasn't too bad as it was a weekend so the offices were empty, but would be more annoying during the week. (hopefully you are out enjoying Brussels and didn't come just to look out your hotel room window) Finally, as another reviewer pointed out, the city tax (7-8 Euro/night) due at checkout was a surprise - it would have been nice if this were mentioned at check in.
"Large rooms, clean, modern"
We were in room 606 (see floorplan) which faces the back. Overall, no major issues and we enjoyed our stay and found the bed to be comfortable. The room and bathroom was spacious, modern, and clean. Hotel was quiet. Room 606 faces the back which is a courtyard surrounded by office buildings that are pretty close. We had to keep the shades down or everyone could see right into our room (and we could see into their offices). This was a bit weird, so maybe asking for a room facing the street would be better. Walking distance to Grand Place which is what we wanted. Got a last minute deal through Tripadvisor except the only surprise was we had to pay a city tax during checkout and nowhere did our Tripadvisor confirmation state this. In fact, when submitting payment via Tripadvisor, the actual terms were "There are no surprises and no hidden fees. This is your total price." Would stay here again and recommend to others if the price is right.
"Could be much better"
I am still in the Hotel from october-02. There is a problem with the shower that I asked to be fixed everyday, but they have no one to do the job. Every time We take a bath, the whole bathroom gets wet, including towels, sanitary paper, etc. And no replacement.
Checked in around 10.30 am and hotel gave us a room without any extra charges for early check in. Room was adequately spacious. Housekeeping does a good job. Hotel is just within 5 minutes walk from Brussels central station. It is just 5 minutes walk to the main tourist attraction, Grand Place. Many possibilities in shops nearer to the hotel. Although they offered late check out at 1 pm, we checked out at 12 noon leaving our bag there since we went for sight seeing tours. We cam back at 5.15 itself and found ourselves sitting at their not so big lobby. They offered a room at 70 euro with 20% discount on that which we accepted. They upgraded our room which had a coffee station too in the room. Staff were very friendly at the front desk ( we met at least 4 different of them). Although I do not see any chance for a visit again to Brussels, We will surely stay at this hotel again if it happens. Rtn.J.Ganesh
"Great experience "
Stayed 3 nights and it couldn't have been a better experience. Located on a quiet street but just a short walk from Grand Place and Centrale train station. Our room was very large for European standards, pretty much the room size you'd find in the States. Nice shower/bathroom and very comfy, big bed. Staff at front desk and hotel bar were extremely attentive and professional. Would definitely return on our next trip to Brussels.
