"Lovely hotel in the heart of Florence"
Our five night stay at the Savoy was wonderful. The location just steps away from the Duomo can't be beat. We were able to walk to all the sites and all but one of our dinners. On a day we did shopping we were able to easily drop some purchases back at our room and go out again. Our room was modern, clean, well appointed with a walk in closet with built-ins. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was modern and very nice. Breakfast is served in the elegant Irene restaurant. The buffet was very good and plentiful with fresh fruit, yogurts, etc. Eggs were not included, but we did order omelettes which were delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful from the concierge to the doorman. The concierge was always eager to show the route on a map where we wanted to go. I highly recommend the Savoy.
"Treated like royalty!"
The staff made was extraordinary. Everytime my fiance and I came back, they opened the doors for us and remembered who we were each time. The personal touches really mattered and we felt special. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a luxurious stay.
"A perfect hotel"
It is rare to find a hotel which gets the care of guests absolutely right but for us the Hotel Savoy in Florence, where we stayed for five nights in early November, was perfect. We had an Executive Room overlooking the square, which was quite small but every detail had been thought through so that it worked brilliantly. The restaurant was excellent, the staff faultless and the concierge went to a great deal of trouble to make arrangements for us. We cannot recommend it highly enough.
"The Bells! The Bells!"
I stayed here for 3 nights recently. Initially my room which overlooked the square seemed fine and the staff were all helpful. Then after working very late I was rudely awoken by the bells from the nearby cathedral at 7am... then at 7.30am... then at 8am... you get the picture! I was renovated to the other end of the corridor and a room facing away from the street; much better! Breakfast was nice and the rest of my stay uneventful.
"Bring your ear plugs"
We loved the location of this hotel. We were upgraded to a 3rd floor corner roon with high ceilings. The shuttered windows opened up to the square below. It was a true Italian experience. The only trouble was every night we were awoken around three in the morning by singing, fighting or just plain yelling. On the plus side the staff couldn't be more helpful and nice. Everyone's English was good. The design of the hotel also was amazing.
