"A Christmas Day to remember"
we dined here for Christmas Day lunch and it truly was an amazing experience. The food was to die for, the service was impeccable..... There was nothing at all that I could find fault with. The location was perfect too. If you want "an experience" then take time out and visit the Savoy.
"9th Anniversaries "
My lovely place in Florence. We can't missed going to our lovely city without staying in Savoy . This time we had a little tiny room . Yet it had a balcony in front of Piazza della Repubblica but the tiny room made us little bit annoyed. We spent most of the time outside that why we didn't care a lot about it . The location is the best . You are honesty surrounded with every thing you need from cafes to best boutiques to the regular Italian shops . A walking distance to the leather good market. Sometimes when we buy things we either dropped them right away to the bellman or let the shop dropped them to us. You really feel comfy in this well established hotel ( I always like Rocco forte chain. Every thing you asked for it before you checked it will be found in your room . So you can't ask for more . Well done
"Great loacation, great hotel and great staff"
We stayed at New Year and found the welcome from the staff in all departments, the location and the facilities excellent. We have stayed at RF hotels several times before in Rome and Brussels and they are hard to beat for comfort and location. This was our first stay in Florence and the location is ideal for all the main sights. Service from all the hotel staff was exemplary and nothing was too much trouble. We particularly enjoyed the New Year's Eve Dinner which the hotel staff made special. The waiting staff are very attentive and the bar/dining room is small but great for cocktails, lunch and dinner. We had an executive room which was comfortable and had a great view of the piazza. The place to stay in our opinion.
"A high Value Hotel for Accommodations and Location"
We were a family of 12 with age range from 4 to 70, three generations. It was a perfect choice for us. Families will understand the comment that when you travel with children the vacation depends upon how they are accommodated and the Savoy does a great job. The size of the connecting rooms for the daughters with family was fine and the size of the classic suite was perfect for my wife and I. The Breakfast was fine. Not spectacular but very good. The concierge services were great. They were particular useful in identifying restaurants which would accommodate a group of our size. We did not have one restaurant which created any problems for the children and the quality of the food was outstanding. Plus they remember your name and go out of their way to be accommodating. Marco was great as was all the others. I apologize to the others that I do not remember their names. Their was only one minor problem which does not affect my rating of the hotel, but you should be aware of to be certain you have no minor disappointments. I inquired in advance as to whether we needed advance reservations for the Duomo and a special tour of the Palazzo Vecchio. I was told it was not necessary but in fact it was necessary. This only teaches me that even in the best of hotels you need to take responsibility for the touring decisions. The location is great with easy walking to all tourist attractions. We did not need cabs. we walked everywhere. The hotel is a five minute cab ride from the hotel and you could walk it in 10 to 15 minutes. So, it is expensive but the value is outstanding. As long as the cost fits within your budget you should experience the Savoy.
Stayed here for 4 nights. We had a room on floor 2, right next to the elevator. It was very very very noisy. I think it was just the room we were in. It faced the back alleyway - where apparently all garbage trucks meet and shake garbages full of glass and aluminum non stop throughout the night. Can also hear the echoes of the singing from the square. Most of the time it's tolerable - when there's drums and a harmonica, not so much. Again, it's literally got to be the one back alleyway in all of Florence where all and any noise possible congregates at night. Crazy, right'! 😜 Aside from the noise, the room was okay. Very small, despite photos. Bed was comfortable. Closet was a good size. The bathroom was TINY. But live-able. Nice simple modern decor. The hotel overall was in good shape - a little older, so you can see the wear/tear. But mostly well kept. Hotel is located in a very busy and central location. Taxis are readily available at any time. And within walking distance to all sights. All in all, I'd rate this hotel a 3.5.
