Website is very misleading. Booked superior plus shown on site. Wanted a Scandic style room, big airy wooden floors as advertised. This is not the room you get. Checked other sites thinking I had made a mistake. No I hadn't. Don't show me a room if this is not what I'm getting. Find this infuriating! Wanted to experience Scandic inside & out. Could have been in any Radisson or Hilton. Nice all the same, staff lovely, very average breakfast, no choice of egg so if you don't like scrambled then that's tuff. Great wee bar but prices are very expensive. £18 for a red wine & a pint. These are also the average prices outside unless you search high & low, Palèa bar is a wee funky jazz bar £12 for two drinks. Located behind hotel D'Angleterre. Experienced some fantastic food while there restaurant 108 near Paper Island by Nyhavn & lèlè modern vietnamese. The restaurants can feel a bit pretentious but they're actually not. Top notch food but not a budget city break if that's what you're looking for. Freezing but fantastic so wrap up.
"Decent option "
Very well located hotel. The lobby is a bit depressing and so are the corridors but the room that we stayed in (junior suite) was large and nice. The service is excellent and quick. Value for money for what we payed for such a location in Copenhagen
"A real, honest review"
Location is great ! At first I was a little bummed the hotel seemed a little past it's time. The hallway carpeting is a boring grey that is basically...boring. It felt like an old hotel that became an apartment building. BUT...when we opened our door I was very surprised on how big it was. The bathroom was very modern & spacious. I liked the frosted glass door leading to the bathroom....all good. The bed was very comfortable and the TV was more the enough. It had a mini fridge filled with stuff you pay for as you use it. First thing we did was empty the contents of it, placed it in the drawer next to it & used it to keep our beer & cheese fresh, we replaced everything before departure. I believe we had a superior twin...which had a king bed in it. Our opinion changed the next morning when we went down for breakfast. I noticed the old detail of the hallways & fixtures. Staircase was grander in its days but still very nice. They have this old elevator that has no interior door and is stainless steel with mirrors. We seemed to always hope it was the one that would arrive for us and we were treated most the time with its arrival. Breakfast was more then enough. Coffee machine was awesome ! I suggest to get there early, get a table. People seemed to show up at 8:00, we got there just after 7:00 and had a choice of most any table. I have read of the BELL TOWER going off and keeping people up, driving them crazy, forcing them to jump off the roof......seriously' We had a courtyard room with a perfect view of the tower which was really something to see. If you want to sleep all day while in Copenhagen and stay here, yes, the bell tower will ruin your sleep. We stayed in Stockholm just before staying here, the Rad Blu Waterfront and I would have to say that hotel being VERY new & modern gave me a negative first impression of Scandic Palace. Bottom line, great place to say & we will certainly look into this place again when we return
"Great hotel experience."
We stayed a weekend. The hotel is so close to everything you could want regarding shopping and Restaurants . Fabuolus service from the girl in the reception, who helped us to find a time at a beauty salon.
"Brilliant Brilliant Brilliant."
I do a lot of travelling and this is one of my top picks. Friendly staff. Great location. Reasonably priced. Good breakfast. Rooms were clean and spacious. Had a bit of time to kill before flight. Staff were happy to store my luggage and let me hang about. And by doing this I spent more money in the very comfy bar. Top marks to the manager. Felt right at home. Oh plus it is a 5 minute walk from the train station........No brainer.
