The Schloss Reinhartshausen Kempinski rises in the city of Erbach, in the Rheingau Region and it is surrounded by luxuriant vineyards. Frankfurt International Airport is just 35 km from the hotel and can be reached quickly by car, taxi or public transport.
"Traditional German Accomodation"
We were in one of the large one bedroom suites, with a connecting door to another room, and therefore had a very large 2 bedroom suite. The suite was probably 800 square feet in size, with a very generous living room. The furniture were quite formal and not suitable for lounging. The food was excellent, and the breakfast buffet generous. The small park/formal gardens surrounding the hotel was beautifully maintained. The hotel is quite traditional in style, and really should have some updating as some of the bathrooms look and feel quite dated.
"Wine, Fine Dining and Promenades"
The Hotel is a fantastic venue with impeccable service, great wines and high class dining, and impressive spa. The location is central for the Rheingau wine-region and if you are fine to do some walking, you can reach all the interesting place by foot: Schloss Johannisberg, Kloster Eberbach, Rüdesheim, Eltville... with all sight-seeing & wine producers. It is also a super place for jogging, hiking and biking. A boat ride can be booked right at the hotel.
Quiet location. Beautiful building with large and well furnished public spaces. Large rooms. Staff is friendly, attentive and very helpful. Close to several small towns with good restaurants, for some variety. Beautiful dining room with excellent food. Pet friendly.
I'm a hard marker - so even though TripAdvisor defines 4 stars as "very good", I rate this hotel as excellent. (I reserve 5 stars for exceptionally excellent.) We stayed 2 nights as part of our Christmas market tour, Beautiful building, huge and well appointed public areas. Large rooms, quiet almost-country location (although several small towns are within 10 km). Pet friendly. Excellent restaurant set in a truly lovely dining room. Very friendly, attentive, and helpful service.
"Amazing Wedding Venue"
My husband and I married at the hotel on the last weekend in July. We chose the hotel based on a number of criteria including: - the proximity to Frankfurt Airport as many of our guests flew in from the UK to attend - the attractive setting on the bank of the Rhine river and within the small village of Erbach - the picturesque grounds and pretty background for wedding photos - the ability of the hotel to serve 100+ guests efficiently - enough hotel rooms for most of our wedding guests The hotel changed operators during our wedding planning process and the new owner and team were incredibly helpful and accommodating. All staff members from the owner through to the chef through to the serving staff listened to our requests and were able to make helpful suggestions (e.g. we wanted banquet layout and we agree to a compromise layout when we realised that serving standards would suffer). The hotel provided a full food and wine tasting so that we could make our final selection including canapes, two types of main courses, and five types of dessert. On the actual weekend of the wedding we were impressed by the presentation of each dish. The kitchen suggested an upgrade of the main dish by adding some delicious grilled prawns at no extra charge. Given the warm weather they also offered to bbq the midnight snack of sausages and burgers which went down well with the guests. Some examples of where the hotel staff and owners were particularly helpful: - providing floor plan and room layouts so we could designate which rooms guests were in (e.g. rooms nearer the dance floor went to younger guests, families in larger rooms etc) - allowing our wedding guets who were not staying in the hotel to use the spa/shower area to freshen up - allowing us to bring our own cheese for the cheese tower - allowing us to serve leftover wedding cake with the dessert buffet - providing us access to the dining rooms and dance floor rooms the day before - late checkout for us and some of our guests the day after the wedding - very reasonable corkage for some premium spirits we brought along to create a mix-it-yourself bar, the hotel provided mixers, ice and lemon/lime slices While the hotel could do with some updating in places I feel it has so many lovely and characterful spaces. We found our rooms spacious and comfortable with gorgeous views over the river and vineyards. All of guests were happy at the hotel and many people complimented the food, the drink and the attentive service throughout the evening. Breakfast on the sunny terrace is delightful and once again the food is fresh and plentiful. I have no regrets having married here and feel that they hotel made every effort to create a perfect day for us.
