Our favorite hotel in Zermatt once again delivered an outstanding experience for me and my family. Great location in the centre of the village! Cosy rooms with very comfortable beds. Excellent customer service from the whole team! We look forward to our next visit!
"Top notch customer service and excellent location!"
We have stayed in a lot of hotels, but the customer service at Schlosshotel is some of the best we've ever received; extremely personalized and genuinely friendly. The staff works extremely hard to make sure every detail is taken care of and they are happy to help with any reservations or requests that you need. The location of this hotel is excellent. It's right next to the train station for the Gornergrat railway to head up to the mountain. It's also a short walk to the bus stop if you'd like to hop on a bus to head and take the train up to Sunnegga to ski. For skiers, they've thought of every detail. You can walk directly into the downstairs ski room from outside and there are automatic doors and even automatic lights that come on as you walk in, so you aren't constantly stopping to put down your equipment to turn on lights, open doors with keycards, etc. The ski locker room is excellent and has a place to warm and dry your gloves, boots, etc. so everything can stay in one place and out of your room! The hotel is incredibly cozy and warm and we enjoyed talking with the staff each evening in the lobby while we'd sit and enjoy a drink and play some cards after a long day of skiing. Eirini, who works behind the bar is absolutely lovely and made us feel like we were right at home. Our son was especially fond of her and didn't want to leave! The manager, Alex, is wonderful as well. You can see why this hotel gets such excellent reviews. There is clearly a huge focus on the customer. We stayed in the Luxury suite as a family of 3 and it was absolutely a perfect setup for a ski trip, complete with a washer and dryer and a well-equipped kitchen for those nights after long ski days when we were too tired to go out to dinner! The breakfasts each morning are excellent, with lots of variety, and if you book accommodations directly with the hotel, they also offer a complimentary tea in the afternoons that's a nice touch. We would come back to this hotel in a heartbeat and would highly recommend it. We hope to return sooner rather than later!
"Nice hotel and staff, centraly-located, easy access to mountain and main street."
Great cozy hotel, with helpful and resourceful staff, central location nearby the Zermatt train station and main street, with easy access to mountain through nearby ski lifts as well as local dining and entertainment options. Rooms, sheets and bathroom were clean and hotel leisure infrastructure (pool, Spa) was good. Beds were a bit too soft for my taste, but minor issue, I was satisfied overall.
"Great Location and Staff"
From the moment you arrive, the staff goes out of their way to accommodate your needs. They made all my reservations prior to my arrival with no issue. You are a stones throw from the train station, the Gornergrat ski train, the Coop supermarket and indoor mall, and the main street (the far end). Town is not very large so from the hotel to the other end of town it is no more than a 15 minute walk. The bus stop for the other two areas is close by or a taxi was CHF12 to the farthest point (Matterhorn gondola). We had a lovely 2 bedroom/ 2 bath overlooking the Matterhorn. It came with a full size washer/dryer (which was helpful for all the ski attire) and a full equipped kitchen (even a professional coffee machine built in). Towel warmers are in each bathroom, water pressure was excellent as was the quality of the towels. Robes and slippers are provided, as was the free Wifi, a lovely breakfast (typical European style with plenty of bread choices, meats, cheeses, yogurts, fresh fruits, eggs, etc.), coffee/tea service with cookies/cakes is served mid-afternoon and a box of chocolates were in the room upon arrival. The ski lockers were heated and had the boot warmers built in - very nice for a ski resort! We had an early train departing and they were kind enough to pack us food bags to take along. The only negative I have to say, is that it would have been great to have an outdoor hot tub. There is a small steam, sauna and indoor pool with jets (but the water is not warm enough). Would highly recommend and appreciated the staff eagerness to help!
"Beautiful hotel, decent location, lovely staff"
Stayed at Schlosshotel for a long weekend, was impressed by their helpful staff, Nicole has been super patient with our enquiries and always has a big smile on her face. The hotel is well located, 5 mins walk to the train station that takes you to the top of the mountain. Such a relief at the end of the day when we had to carry our skis back. The ski room is very tidy and convenient to access, with boot dryers in each locker. Enjoyed the spa and jucuzi/pool.
