"Convenient location, great breakfast"
The staff were all very friendly and had excellent English (there is very little English in Rio as a whole). We got especially great service from Patricia on reception and Gilvan in the restaurant. The breakfast buffet had an excellent spread, especially of very tasty cakes. Other options included fresh fruit, breads and eggs/bacon. The only disappointment was the cereal selection. Although not near the beach, the hotel is very near a metro stop (3 stops to Coppacabana; Metro's in Rio are very frequent and ran almost everywhere we wanted to go). The square nearby has a number of good and reasonably priced restaurants, as well as a supermarket. The rooms aren't big, but the bed was big and comfortable. Room was clean and comfortable and had good air-conditioning (Essential in Rio in summer!). The water was hot and pressure was good, and the toilets are Western. However, there was no kettle/tea in our room, and the rooms have poor noise insulation from the passage or the room next door, so we could hear the people outside and in the next room. Good WIFI in the room The pool area is nice, but too small for the number of rooms. The pool bar wasn't operational.
"Pertissimo do metro,"
Hotel possui um preço bom para a temporada, é perto do metro e da para pegar as vans para o Cristo diretamente do lado do hotel. O que foi ótimo, apenas acredito que o café da manhã poderia ser melhor. I've been there for new year's eve, the hotel is really close to the metro station and next to Largo do Machado, a little charming square where you can take the cars to the Christ the redeemer what is very great and less busy than the Copacabana cars. Only the breakfeast could be better.
"Good hotel and location"
The rooms are not great, but clean and does have many amenities. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is close to transport making it easy to get around Rio. The hotel also has a poll area.
"Stayed for olympics"
Hotel was ok.. Near subway so it was convenient to get around but not close to walk most places. Staff was friendly. Room was clean but very plain and simple. I would rate it between 3-4 stars...could use a little updating
"Flintstones best suite"
The hotel was well placed if you want to get a good feel for the locals. It is not the glitz and glam of the Copacabana, so maybe split your vacation a few days here and a few days at Copacabana beach. We really enjoyed the neighbourhood as it was walking distance from the beach; shops; restaurants and museums. The staff at the hotel were very nice and the food reasonable (breakfast good). The rooms were clean and had the usual a/c & safe but the beds uncomfortable and pillows were thin and rock hard. I asked for another (soft) and just got more of the same. Take your own pillow! The bathroom with had a huge marble spa bath that doubles up as a shower that can comfortably accommodate 10 people for a fun bubbly session (if that is your thing). Free Wifi is always a plus. The roof has a wonderful pool with a view of the hills. Get some drinks and enjoy!
