"Call to Check Renovation Status Before Booking"
I could write a lengthy review about the dingy, dirty, dim and depressing conditions of this hotel, but management is already clearly aware that it is in dire need of remodeling, as a remodel is underway. Presumably, the remodel will do away with the stained floors, ceilings, and walls, the uncomfortable beds, the water damaged furniture, the non-working stove, and the lamp and hair dryer that repeatedly sparked and shorted out. Our stay was terrible, because the remodel is going on while guests are there. The entire reason for our stay was so that we would have somewhere to sleep while my husband worked the night shift at a local business for a few days. Sleep was impossible to come by though, as the hammers began pounding at 8:30 AM each morning and continued all day. We had no warning that this was going on before we booked, so do yourself a favor and call to confirm whether the renovations are complete before you do.
"Great hotel and staff!!"
We were in Kentucky for a few weeks for an adoption. The staff was great and made us feel at home for the entire time we were there! They went above and beyond to make us comfortable and accommodated all of our room needs. Thanks for making our stay with you more enjoyable!
"Large and well appointed"
The room is basically an efficiency apartment - nice enough, but way more than you would need on a quick stopover. I found the staff to be AMAZING and so helpful and accommodating. Nice clean room with a small bed - a bit too small frankly when you are used to a king. The room needed some attending to - loose screws, here and there but they were saying the hotel is due for an upgrade.
In spite of the fact that this is a nice property, it feels old. Lots of repairs are needed, but a lot could be improved by a a little attention by management. Maybe someone could arrange for managements mothers to come stay here. I wonder if they would clean the kitchen utensils. The skillet was filthily - I just don't understand why Staybridge doesn't use stick free skillets or provide something to clean them with. The spatula was melted and one of the serving spoons was covered in muck. I would have preferred to grill outside, but neither of the grills worked - and the front desk knew it. It's deplorable that grills don't work at this type of hotel. The paint in the bathroom is chipping off the ceiling. How can all these things not be noticed' Or does the team just not care' Half the parking lot was consumed by huge construction equipment. OK, I can understand a need here, but when I saw the staff park in the FRONT parking spaces, it confirmed that customers aren't the priority here. I love the Staybridge chain, but this is sub standard. I don't want an apology - I want management to fix it so I'm the last person with similar complaints (I'm not the first).
"Disappointed in this property."
We have a large suite, with 2 bedrooms and 2 baths, which was nice. However, the rooms are somewhat out of date and in need of repair (for example, the closet door just swings wildly rather than being on a track). I did notice a smoke smell outside our room, and then faintly inside our suite. I also found a lighter on the floor of the living area. We had to really struggle to unlock our door from the inside and get it open - all of us tried, and my husband was finally able to force it open. We did point this out upon checkout, as we felt it was a hazard in case of fire. The breakfast was very disappointing. They ran out of items and didn't replace them until we asked. I heard someone say that there was a car show in town and they were very busy, but this should have been anticipated and staffed accordingly. Our bill was $300 for one night. This was definitely not a $300 stay.
