Not uncommon for you to get off the elevator in the evening and immediately hear people having very very loud sex. Also not uncommon for you to spend an eternity waiting for an elevator and for your room key to stop working because the batteries in the door locking mechanism are drained (which also means it is not uncommon to wait an eternity at the understaffed front desk to ask them to replace said batteries).
"Relaxing oasis Just outside the city"
Spent 2 nights here @ this out of city hotel in the University area of Hong Kong. If you want a quiet night's sleep, then this is the place for you. Easy walking to the Metro, although it takes about 30mins into the Centre. There is an occasional free shuttle bus from the hotel that connects to airport Express train and city centre, ask Concierge. Rooms are very spacious quiet, huge beds, and all the facilities one requires. Hotel pool is outside, but water is very warm, surrounded by palm trees with a nice outdoor bar/ restaurant.
"Second short stay."
We visited this hotel for the second time because of the more scenic area instead of a hotel in the busy center of Hong Kong. The sub is next to the hotel and in 45mins you travel smoothly to Central Station in HK. This time the weather was bit rainy so we did not walk the boulevard. However when we were there the first time, it was beautiful and warm, and walking the boulevard was nice with enough possibilities for a drink and/or meal with a view! There are also boats nearby which will take you to other islands for hiking, which we plan to do the next time.
"Awesome hotel, lovely views, great support staff"
We had our conference this yr at this hotel. The views were amazing, staff were quite supportive. Every one enjoyed the food. We really liked the place and would love to conduct our future meetings in HK as well.
"Family and disability friendly hotel"
My mother is a wheelchair user, so we book a separate room with disability access for her while we stayed at this hotel. We were very happy with her room because it had an extra wide entrance (good for storing her wheelchair) and the bathroom/shower was very well appointed for her needs. I think this hotel is really well price for the facilities the offer. In addition to providing spacious guest rooms with lovely views (we had one of the harbour and one of the hills - both very tranquil for busy Hong Kong), they also have a great gym, busy but well kept pool, a tennis court which we used on one of the hottest afternoon in Hong Kong (not recommended), and some great restaurants which we did not have the chance to try. The location of the hotel was a little out of the way. But it's easily accessible by train - University MTR station is a two minute walk away. I think the trade off here is the relative peace and quite and space you get for staying in the 'country side', which is not such a bad thing. There is a convenient store, a bakery, a couple of fast food joints at the MTR station, so if you must get something simple it's not difficult. Another wonderful facility we did not get to use was the bike hire (I think free for an hour'). The hotel is right in the middle section of an off-road bike track running next to the river (it starts at Tai Wai and ends in Tai Po - you can also do the other side of the river). It's a great little ride on a nice day if you want to swap spending another busy day in the hustle and bustle of the CBD. The staff are all very accommodating and polite. Most of them are very young and eager to help. I'd be happy to stay here again.
