"Great for Buisness travel, very close to Trade and Exhibition Centres."
Apron entering the hotel lobby you instantly get the feeling of grandeur. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. I stayed in a Horizon Club room, enjoyed their happy hour complementary food and drinks. The gym is very large and well equipped. The indoor hotel pool is amazing. Hotel is close to Slik Market, upmarket shopping in the mall below, many restaurants close by. The hotel morning buffet caters for Asian and Western Cuisines. Staff are all very helpful. Enjoyed my stay, will be back.
"Another perfect stay"
The China World hotel always provides excellent service. In my opinion China World is the premier place to stay when in Beijing. The hotel provides (at a cost) transfer service to and from the Beijing airport. Very convenient.
"2 Night Stay"
We stayed at this hotel as part of a Celebrity Cruise excursion. Rooms were very spacious and extremely comfortable. The breakfast buffet had lots of choices with a heavy accent on local foods but enough Western food choices to fill you up. Staff was friendly and helpful. The local music demonstration in the lobby on our return was great.
"Beautiful rooms but spoiled by customer service"
We stayed one night on 20 March as we were following a cruise tour group. Impressive foyer and a traditional Chinese music group was performing wonderfully in the hotel lobby. A welcoming sight after a tiring full day of sightseeing and traffic jam. The lobby staff were smiling and courteous. Our room was situated at a corner on Level 10- it is very spacious with stylish design. The bathroom was big, with beautiful marbled floor- very nice indeed! We went to the hotel buffet breakfast the next morning- quite early at 6.30am, there was only a few guests there at that time. Went to the omelette station- and requested for omelette. There were two chefs there and the younger one took our orders. His mannerism was rather brusque and rude. He had a scowl the whole time the omelette was being cooked, never once smiled, kept sighing and hrmphing. When the omelettes were done, he just snatched the plate from us and smacked the omelette on it and almost throw the plate back at us. Needless to say, we were shocked and had contemplated to whether just leave the restaurant altogether. I can understand there is a language barrier but doubt this is the case. Fortunately the rest of the restaurant staff were nice and polite. The last incident was when we returned to the hotel room to gather our belongings for check out, almost 7.30am. Another young man knocked the door and came in. And just said 'Time to get out'. We were surprised with the way it was being delivered, felt being kicked out from the room. Would have expected more from a Shangri-la staff- a little more professional and better communication skills. This unfortunately had undone the good first impression by the previous staff. All in all, the room and amenities are great, but the hospitality of some staff leaves much to be desired.
I stayed in China World Hotel 2 weeks ago for business, very lucky that I got an upgrade with Lounge access. Lounge located on level 3, renovated within the last couple of years, very nice setting. Good breakfast. Mini bar offers very limited things...
