"Impressive hotel, stuffy atmosphere"
This is a really iconic hotel and the room was very impressive, we chose a city view room which was worth the extra cost, if you are going to be up there you may as well get the view! Very plush hotel but I always felt it was a little stuffy, a more relaxed atmosphere would make this an even more enjoyable place to stay.
"Absolutely out of this world... "
My wife and I stayed at the Shangri La Hotel on the 15th Jan 2017... All I can say to anyone who is thinking twice about booking to stay there as a surprise gift to a partner, or for an anniversary or whatever the occasion may be. Just book it. It is absolutely stunning in every sense. The staff were so attentive and friendly, they couldn't do enough for you. The room was just amazing. We were given a beautiful room on the 50th floor which was a surprise for my wife for her 30th birthday. It was just perfect. Views were amazing, the bed was beyond comfortable and huge! Bathtub over looking London, rain shower, heated toilet seat, so many little treasures that all add to make it such a fantastic hotel in every sense. We had a 3 course meal brought to our room as we had the 'romance in the clouds' package. The food was beautifully cooked and was so tasty! As was breakfast! I'll say again for anyone who is thinking twice or worrying about spending a large amount of money to most people for a room... it's worth every single penny and a bit more. Thank you Shangri La. We will see you again, either in this country or another. But we will definitely see you again that's for sure. From 2 very happy customers Mikey & Ashley.
"Brunch before the shard"
We popped in here yesterday before our visit up the shard. Service was brilliant and staff were lovely. Would recommend the honeycomb donut! Toilets were amazing especially as the weather wasn't kind to us, a heated seat added to how lovely this place is!
We stayed for one night in January 2017. From the moment you arrive the experience and welcome is all first class, which you would expect based on the price. We stayed in a Deluxe City View room. We were shown to our room and the views were absolutely amazing, although the room was perhaps slightly smaller than you would expect for the price. All top quality amenities in the room, although slight disappointing to not have the bath with a view (worth requesting in advance). The infinity pool on the 52nd floor is amazing and the views yet again incredible, very relaxing if you go there once it is dark outside. We had drinks in Gong at night, they had a waiting list for window seats (we were told that hotels guests were given priority on these but this wasn't the case the night we stayed). Drinks very expensive and service not amazing, although yet again, the experience and views incredible. Breakfast is expensive but the experience amazing and all the food (and more) you could wish for. On the day we arrived we had perfectly clear blue sky, although the day we left it was heavy rain and very cloudy which very much restricted the views to not being able to see anything. Had we have had 2 days of the rainy weather it would have ruined the experience as the views definitely make this hotel special. Worth visiting and experiencing!
We stayed here with friends for 2 nights. The room was lovely, with fab bathrooms, including oscillating washer in the loo! Also a tv in the bathroom integrated into the mirror and gorgeous toiletries. The pool was amazing, fabulous views but the water was in the cool side which we wondered was to discourage too many people from being in there. The bar was lovely but very busy! Fab views from the room Would definitely return.
