I stay for three night at this hotel on duty, and have a room at 14 floor near the elevator. Overall the ambience is very convenience and all the staff is very warm and helpful. The only things is, since my room is very close to the elevator I can hear the sound like the plane took of or landing, and make me wonder at first where the sound came from since the hotel is located far from the airport. At last I know the sound coming from the the elevator machine when it was moving up and down. I really like the various of dishes serve at the restaurant for breakfast, lunch or dinner. two thumbs up for that.
"Excellent Hotel and Outstanding Service"
I recently spent 4 nights at the Shangri-La Hotel in Jakarta on a business trip. The check in procedure was efficient and pleasant and the staff was incredibly friendly. The room was very nice, it had everything I wanted and needed for my stay, and it was nicely decorated, clean, and quiet. I utilized the Horizon Lounge on the 23 floor numerous times to get something to eat, relax, and have business meetings. Without a doubt, the best part of the entire experience was the incredibly friendly staff - I could literally not walk more than a few steps before someone was offering to help me. Outstanding customer service and this will definitely be my hotel of choice for future visits to Jakarta.
"Fantastic all round! Would highly recommend."
The Shangri-La hotel is always a pleasure to stay in. The suites are always spacious and spotless, the staff are always attentive, and breakfast at the horizon club is not to be missed. Plus, the added bonus of staying in a horizon suite is that you get an afternoon tea buffet too! What more could you want' Location is great, and the views on the horizon floors are stunning.
"Why they call it Shangri-La!"
This is definitely an incredible hotel with fantastic staff throughout the hotel. Some of the highlights for me include the view overlooking the pool and the green space. Also, one of the best gyms in a hotel and the buffet breakfast is worth it! If I am back in Jakarta, this is the place I'll be staying again!
"What's Not to Love'"
As young parents travelling with our two spoiled, cranky young kids for the first time, hotel choices are crucial to ensure a pleasant travel experience. Among the boxes that need to be ticked are room AND bathroom sizes (we do a million things at once in the bathroom), bedding arrangements, hygiene, swimming pools, dining options and proximity to places of interest. And I must stay that our recent stay in the Shangri-La Hotel Jakarta pretty much hit us on the right spots. We were not expecting much when we requested for early check in that day, however our rooms (all three of them) were ready when we arrived at 11 a.m. We were travelling with my nieces who still followed strict nap schedules and they needed to be in bed by 12 noon. So that worked out perfectly, dramas and melt downs avoided. We have not been visited the hotel for quite a while now, but the ambiance in the lobby had always been the same. Staff were friendly and helpful, and service was prompt. We also requested for the rooms to be close to each other, with two of them connected. And we got exactly what we asked for. Upon reaching our floor, the hallways were adequately lit, the air was crisp and pleasant smelling – not humid as some that we encountered before, the carpets appeared clean with relaxing modern colors which were to our liking. The rooms were spacious enough with adequately sized and nicely decorated bathroom. The twin beds that we requested for were joined together and were big enough for 2 adults and 2 kids under the age of 6 to sleep in. What really impressed us was the attention to details in the interiors and the fact that there were no sharp edges whatsoever on the furniture. VERY VERY safe for the kids, mama happy and papa approved. We also loved the fact that everything in the room were lightly colored, making the room brighter and feels more spacious. First thing on the to-do-list when you are travelling with kids: swimming, of course. The kids enjoyed their swimming time, and also the stroll in the gardens. Unfortunately, the kids water park was still under construction during the period, so they did not get to use the facility. I could imagine it would really add much more fun to their swim session. We also obtained the privilege to visit the lounge for snacks and bites, and I must stay that the food was not half bad. My kids who were not used to the type of food ended up munching away their crispy breaded prawns and mini sandwiches. The highlight of our stay was definitely the super duper yummy breakfast. Satoo restaurant was of course quite well known for their buffet. We had had the privilege of dining there many of times, however this was our first breakfast experience. And I must stay it was equally impressive. Wide array of breakfast food from pretty much any nations you can think of was available and the taste was exquisite. I happen to be a big eater any time of the day so BEAST MODE ON!! My husband who did not usually eat breakfast was happy with his fruit juices and some light meals. The kids had their fruits, breads, and cereal, and they were ready to go swimming again. So off they went for another swim session with their dad, while I continued to munch, munch, and munch away with my heavily pregnant little sister. Late check out was in order due to the nap schedules, and the request was once again granted. We were given ample time extension to 4 p.m. which was more than enough. Check out process went smoothly. With heavy but happy hearts we then left the hotels. Big thanks to the staff for their wonderful service. Our stay at the Shangri-La Hotel Jakarta couldn’t get any more comfortable than it had been.
