This was my first return to this hotel. The service throughout was first rate. I booked a Horizons club room to give me access to the club lounge and it was worth every ringgit. High speed poached eggs for breakfast both days as I had early meetings sorted within a very few minutes. Short notice massage in the Spa accommodated without fuss and now I am relaxing in the lounge waiting for my airport transfer. If you have to be in KL for a business trip over a weekend..., this is the place to be! I cannot comment on any of the restaurants as I missed out this frip! Next time.....

"Good but not that good"
Well, being in this hotel as last step on my honeymoon planning.i stayed in this hotel for 5 nights(6days)from 10-01-2017 to 15-01-2017.starting with good things about hotel: 1)breakfast was amazing.i eat there for 5 times and yes it was great. 2)place of the hotel is in the middle of every thing.u can just walk and u will reach nearly everything 3)it was clean like other 5 stars hotel Bad things: 1)i booked to this hotel through booking .com.i payed for 5 night which was really big amount, when i reach there was somethinv called golden circle if u pay too much u will get some points that u can exchange it to free services like spa or something.when i asked for it they told no u book online so u cant get this service!really!! 2)swimming pool was not very clean.water was tasty and the color wasnt that clean,i tried it once and never went back. 3)since the moment u enter the hotel they try to charge u on anything, when i checked in the lady at the counter offered to upgrade my room to suit since my room was very small!!who told u that i need bigger room'that offer was published infront of my wife on my honey moon,so now she know that i booked small room,,if i didmt ask for upgrade pls dont offer your opinion next time(and there will be no next time) 4)room was really small for 5 stars hotel especially the bathroom.the tv setting was in malaysian language not in english, not so proffesianal from 5 stars hotel 5)i went to exchane 50 dollars at recieption,i had 100 dollars but they told me they dont exchange!either u exchange the whole 100 dollars or no!!this is not 5 stars action this is 1 star house!!
"Stop over - Fabulous hotel "
We are two adults and an 8 year old. On our way to Australia we booked the Shangri La to enjoy a 2 night, 3 day city break. We caught the KLIA Express from the airport which was a easy as pie straight from the terminal into KL Sentral. At Sentral we are ashamed to admit we got our son McD's as he was hungry and we knew he would eat that! Metered taxi to our hotel which cost £4 and took 20 mins (in traffic) it was great to see KL from our window! On arrival at the hotel we were warmly welcomed and our bags whisked into a trolley, stepping into the air conditioning was welcomed! We swiftly checked in and taken to our room. The air conditioning smelt foisty and our son's bed wasn't present - a phone call to reception and within seconds our room was sprayed (totally fixed the problem) and the bed arrived, excellent service. The bed was enormous and comfortable and we had views out of the window to the KL Tower. En suite had a shower and bath and was well equipped with toiletries and towels. Bathrobes and slippers, comp water, TVs, safe all included. We headed out and walked approx 15 mins round the corner to the KL tower, it was amazing. Day 2 we had a fabulous breakfast - every nation was catered for, continental breakfast, pancakes, waffles, sushi, yoghurts, omelette, curry! You name it, you could have it! Staff were very attentive and the environment was pleasant. Evening meals, you could eat in but just across the road and left was a strip of restaurants and bars (on the walk to the twin towers) which offered a wide choice. We are at the Hard Rock Cafe which we found expensive for Asia, our son is not an adventurous water so we wanted to ensure he stocked up! Pool - wow! Beautiful setting with sky scrapers around and views of the twin towers. Lovely and warm (Dec) with a lifeguard and plenty of sunbeds which had towels and iced water flavoured with fruit was provided. We spent the morning before our flight here and our son met children from all over the world to play with which is what travel is all about. Food - we are at the grill bar, the satay was delicious and Service great. There is a cafe/cake area too offering light lunches. A special mention should be made to the staff welcoming guests, looking after luggage, sorting taxis and giving directions. Nothing was too much trouble. A credit to the hotel. Interior, beautiful, chandeliers, the charity Christmas tree, decadent seating areas, lovely garden areas and carp pool. Nightly singer in the bar area although we were too exhausted by our sightseeing to enjoy that! Highly recommend.
"5 Star through and through"
Brilliant hotel, couldn't recommend it enough! We stayed here New Year's Eve 2016 for just one night in an Executive Suite - which gave us access to the Horizon Club. Whilst we paid slightly more, it was worth every penny. The service here was second to none and the staff were ultra-attentive. The room was very luxurious and offered great views of the Menera tower, whilst the Horizon Club lounge was a great place to get free drinks and snacks and offered exceptional breakfast in the morning. Worth the extra price if you're looking for something special.
