"Great Omani experience"
Beautiful resort with great service and superb accommodation. Beach facilities well provided and plenty of space round the pools, beach and green areas. Rooms clean and comfortable. Staff were without exception helpful and attentive.
"Great location and settings, excellent food, overpriced"
The location of the hotels' complex is great in a superb creek surrounded by brown-orange sandi rocks. The settings of the hotel, with relaxing bar zone with ocean view, a private beach allowing to swim in the clean water of the golf of Oman and pools is perfect. We also enjoyed great food quality at the breakfast and dinner buffet at the At Tannoor restaurant, the personnel of which is very efficient and friendly. The room, nicely decorated in a modern and sober arabic style, has all amenities one can expect in such a high end hotel. The hotel personnel is also very professionnal and friendly. But there is a big but: the significantly too high price on the bill, which is not justified, even in international comparision and even considering a willingness to set an understandable price barrier. This is a luxury resort...be prepared to open widely your purse for this. You also need your private transport (or a tour) if you want to explore the region.
"Family Holiday for my Mothers 50th!"
We chose to enjoy some winter sun and take a mini break in Oman with the family on our first proper holiday together in years. We spent 4 nights at the resort and enjoyed our time there tremendously. As my little brother has special needs we needed a hotel that was child friendly and this resort was perfect. The rooms were very clean and the decor nice they were a little smaller than I expected but the views were very nice. The fact that the hotel has 3 different complexes to choose from really helped us with what to do and how to occupy our time. There was a little something for everyone from my Mum and sister and I in the spa most days and the boys playing tennis and using the gym. We would walk along the beach across all the hotels each day and this morning walk really was a good thing for my 70 year old Dad who finds hotels a bore. The hotel kindly made a real effort when it was my Mothers big day and we enjoyed an amazing meal up at the honeymoon hotel part which was more for the no kids types. The days were spent eating and trying lots of different types of foods and taking in the sunshine. I would recommend this hotel to any family who needs some versatility. The staff were great and very helpful too. We also rented a boat for the day and went out on a sunset cruise I highly recommend this it was our own private boat for the whole afternoon and quite amazing. The hightlight of our trup was going to spot Dolphins at sunirse and we must have seen hundreds!
"Good family hotel , spacious if a little remote"
We stayed at Al Jissah for 5 nights in early January with the two kids aged 5&6. V good childcare facilities; the resort is 3 hotels in 1 and we stayed in the Al Bandar which was v comfortable - suite was perfect for us and the 2 kids. Good place for a quiet get away and some sun; possibly a bit lacking in atmosphere and did feel rather off the beaten track but would recommend if you are looking for a short get away with toddlers/ young kids. On site restaurants were good, if a little lacking in atmosphere. Food in the Asian one particularly good. Less impressed by the shaharazad.
"Absolutely fantastic, luxury holiday."
What an absolutely stunning hotel, with such attentive staff and a wonderful choice of restaurants that serve delicious food. The buffet restaurant which offers both breakfast and supper is world class. They hand pick extremely talented chefs to deliver a wide array of different cuisines and beautifully presented desserts. The beach is kept beautifully and the pool areas are lovely too. There is an abundance of families with children at both Al bandar and Al waha SO if you are looking for a quieter more romantic/adult getaway then the Al Husn is the better option. We were there over Christmas and it was so nice to see the hotel being decorated so festively too. 5 stars all the way - thank you! Please note that this is an expensive resort!! You can get a free shuttle from outside the hotel to muscat city centre where you can find very cheap but very good restaurants. Also visiting the muttrah souk is a must!!!
