A stunning place to stay and relax. Lots of pools and lazy river, theres also a spotlessly clean beach to chill out on. The staff were fantastic all round and would make you feel so welcome with there endless smiles. Fantastic place, location and staff. I will be back!
"BEACH FRONT EXCELLENCE"
This hotel is a five star experience. The rooms are spacious, especially the bathroom which is on the luxurious side. We only ate at the Al Tanoor buffet restaurant which was of the highest order with a great variety of excellent dishes- terrific breakfast and lunch. The beach front is in an outstanding location and is very suitable for young children. In fact this hotel complex, Al Bandar and Al Waha, is very much geared for children of all ages with the inspirational Lazy River a wonderful addition to the swimming pools which were large, interesting and beautifully heated. A nice touch was the provision of a small cool box filled with water bottles. Beach towels are in profusion. I did not rate Al Husn at all, lacking the vibrancy of the others. The staff were uniformly pleasant and we were given a gratis room move to a sea view. The reception is underpowered at times: with four in attendance when it is not busy and only two when they need more. We had a problem initially but this was dealt with efficiently by Francis, the beverage Assistant Director, who epitomised the hotel's fine standing: he was probably the most impressive hotel employee we have ever come across. The fall in the value of the pound post-Brexit has made this hotel an expensive one. I would recommend you book in advance at the very least half-board. Although I have no personal experience I would imagine a la carte would be very expensive for British people (at the very least you will have to pay 17% tax). We had a memorable holiday and are already planning to return next year.
"Wonderful location and excellent staff"
We were warmly welcomed back by staff who genuinely remembered us from our visit last year. Although we arrived before 9am, there was a room ready for us which was wonderful after a very long flight. As ever the room was superb, with a huge bed and plenty wardrobe hanging space and drawer space too. The bathroom had both a bath and a shower cubicle. The toilet is not private, so the bathroom can only be used by one person if the other is using the toilet. Perhaps a feature of hotels in this part of the world. It was not a huge problem. Dining facilities are tremendous here. Firstly the breakfast buffet has such an enormous choice and all first class food. Al Tanoor at night features a different buffet every night, but to keep costs down, it can be useful to select from the a la carte menu. We enjoyed Mokah Café for coffee and delicious freshly baked pastries with fruit. Raymond and Nwe gave great service here as did Nova in Surf Café, part of Al Waha. We also enjoyed an evening meal in Samba, the equivalent to Al Tanoor in Al Waha and again chose from the a la carte although the buffet looked superb. (Exchange rate is poor for £ against Omani Riyal - 1 OMR = £2.20! Tapas has an interesting selection of choices, quite big portions so order a few and then order more if you need them. This outlet gets very busy on Friday night and no booking. We also ate in Capri Court the Italian style restaurant. All the staff are so friendly but we must commend Geraldine again on front desk for her helpfulness in all matters and also Suresh at Al Bandar, who always greeted us with a smile and cheery word. The hotel has a Shuttle bus daily to Moutrah Souk and another (Except Fridays) to Avenues Shopping Mall - the latter might just benefit from being scheduled to allow more time at the Mall, especially if you want to visit Grand Mall over the road as well - worth a visit for non European shops.
An outstanding resort far from the crowds. A great little beach and plenty of pools to use and relax by. We went for the half board option and were pleasantly surprised by the variety and choice at the dinner buffet. Room was very good and nice and quiet despite the hotels being pretty full.
We stayed here during the Christmas and New year break in Dec 2016. Our flight got us to the hotel at 5-6am in the morning, we were worried we may have to hang around the hotel until check in time, but the hotel very kindly checked us into our room as soon as we arrived. We appreciated that they accommodated us, especially after a long flight. We had a room with a balcony and had a view of the sea. The rooms were very nice and clean and bathrooms were very clean also. Customer service if vey good. The only negative I would say is the buffet did get a little boring in the main restaurant, but there are lots of other restaurants to eat in the sister hotels. Also for the time of year we went we did pay an over inflated price.
