Overall experience was good, just that the restaurants other than the grill 79 took some efforts to find. ' Red' restaurant seemed not belonging to Shang, and looked like a fast food one. Didn't go in. didn't haveBreakfast weren't good enough, lacks variety for Shang's standard.
"The foggy Winter would not give you negative mood"
My family and I stayed at Summit Wing during 27 Dec - 2 Jan. We experienced clear sky and sunshine as well as foggy days. Whatever the weather situations, they would not affect our moods because we enjoyed the fabulous view of our 74th hotel room. The service was attached to detail, the staff were supportive and caring ... needless to say, the 78/F indoor swimming pool and gym were first class. Remember to enjoy the breakfast before your sight seeing. The restaurant provides different kinds of delicious main dishes every day.
Great view as the hotel lobby and rooms are on floors 64-80 something. The decoration is very grand and elegant. The bed is so comfortable and the bathroom is huge and well-stocked. My family and I were there for a science event hosted in the hotel and the hotel's ballroom is huge but absolutely gorgeous. Not sure if this is because we were there for the event, but the room provided complimentary water, wine, fruits, and chocolate. There is free wifi throughout the hotel. The only downside is that because of the height of the hotel building, there is a lot of wind in the area where you wait for the elevator because of the difference in air pressure. Additionally, it can be a little confusing to navigate as the hotel has function rooms on the first few floors before skipping to its lobby on the 64th floor and rooms in the floors above. The middle floors are office room floors and are thus inaccessible to hotel guests.
"One of the best Shangri-La's and wholeheartedly would recommend to friends and family!"
My family (parents and brother) and I stayed at the Summit Wing for three nights between December 21-24, and this has been a truly fantastic experience--lovely, highly professional staff, a beautiful hotel with exquisite and spacious rooms, relaxing lounge with beautiful views of Beijing, delicious breakfast offerings, and a very convenient and centralized location. Any minor issues we encountered--forgetting our room card and needing help to reopen the room, swapping a coffee machine that wasn't working, requiring masks during the days that were more polluted--were all handled quickly, efficiently, and with a friendly smile. Genuine service makes all the difference! We wanted to give a special shoutout to the lovely Summer Yu--Guest Relations Manager--who greeted us at the door and handled our check-in flawlessly and completely hassle-free, and made sure to brighten our day with a beautiful smile anytime we crossed paths during our stay, always checking to see if everything was going well and if there was anything she could do to make our stay even better. Also, we appreciated the friendly professionalism of Chief Concierge Dirk Zhang who helped to recommend and book a wonderful restaurant in which to meet with visiting friends, and also helped to ensure we would get a table overlooking a window the next morning for breakfast. Making our mornings extra sunny were Jacky, Peggy and Jessica from Grill 79, who were always attentive and beyond friendly. Food always tastes better when in good company, and the staff at Grill 79 are as good as they get! If you are looking for a hotel with incredible staff and service, excellent location (convenient access underground to two subway lines), shopping (big winding underground mall and Ole supermarket), spacious rooms with elegant bathrooms (with a tub that's fantastic for a soak with the scented bath salts) and very nice views from very high up (we were on Level 74), then do treat yourself to an unforgettable stay at the Summit Wing! This was my brother's first time staying in a Shangri-La hotel, and I'm sure he will be benchmarking other luxury hotels against this one for years to come! Thank you for making this the best holiday vacation!
"Amazing and one of the best in china!"
Just spent two nights at this amazing hotel. Didn't want to leave. From over accommodating staff at every turn to amazing suites and restaurants this is a must for everyone in beijing. I would stay there in a second and will definitely be staying at this hotel all the time. Spa and gym were incredible and is a must see as well. Booked the hotel car to and from hotel and they escorted me through customs and immigration. Well worth the money. Arranged a private tour to the Great Wall and loved every minute
