"Quiet, tranquil, relaxing"
Beautiful place to stay, 3 swimming pools to chose from, clean tidy rooms. 2 bedroom apartment very spacious, large bathrooms. Restaurant on location has very good food, large selection we were never disappointed with quality of food (tried many items) Staff very friendly & helpful at all times. Beach was quite dirty & not really for swimming. But with 3 swimming pools wasn't a big issue for us. Resort is a little further out, but that made it much more quiet & relaxing. Worth a stay
"100% Relax for the good and bad"
I believe the title of my review explains everything. This hotel is the kind of place you go when you are looking for 100% Relax. It is in a remote area of the north of the Island. Totally isolated. Nothing around. If you want to move you need to rent a vehicle (but who doesn't do this in Thailand) or use the shuttle that the hotel offers to different parts of the island. Great pools. Excellent views from any of their spacious rooms and relaxing environment. Perfect place if you want to disconnect and be in peace. I have only a couple of complains. My main complain is the poor quality of the breakfast. To be called a 5 stars hotel you have to offer something special but their breakfast is similar to a some BB i've been around the world. Some fruit, yogurt, two options of boring pastries and white bread. Then you have to choose on the menu for a one warm option such as english breakfast, scramble eggs and so on. I believe if you do this place so isolated with no options to go around to get breakfast you should offer a more open and reasonable selection for breakfast. Other down point of the hotel is the beach. In six days of stay there I only step in the beach once. Why'. Because doesn't exist because the tides. Overall I had a great and relaxing time there but I don't think I will come back there. Sometimes we want to relax but you need at least a good bar and restaurant to seat and read and get a drink even socialise but this was impossible there. I will talk to finalise about the room service. Two negative points on it. The room service finish at 22.30 and it is overpriced. No minimal options for the night. If you have an installation totally away from everything at least you have to offer a backup for your guest. I saw mostly of all the guest going during the day around the island and coming back with groceries from the supermarket to survive during the evening and night. Please be in mind that the last shuttle from the beach to the hotel is at 5pm.
"Resort in true sense"
Just to make it clear, i give 4 stars because of the location, nothing else. The resort is amazing. The staff is nice and well trained, always smiling and ready to help. Sometimes they get intimidated i believe from tourists from Europe or US, just relax, they are regular people as well. The amenities are great, rooms are spaceious and modern. Great view as well. The food in the restaurant is amazing. Delicious and with a great view. There were rarely some guests there to be honest, maybe is not season yet. Pools are at disposal, infinity feeling. The only advise, make sure you have a car or motorbike if you want to explore. Is a bit far from the live areas like Chaweng.
"Not the best"
Okay so as a hotel its great. Rooms are very modern, huge, tidy and staff are very friendly. The hotel itself is beautiful no complains there. However, if you are going to explore or going to visit places this hotel is very far from all of that. It took us over an hour to get to places and if you are going to stay out late you have to be wary of coming back so late and being on the road that late. Location of the hotel is its biggest downfall and the beach is not nice at all. Its a rocky beach you cant do much. The hotel does offer shuttle service to the main town but the operating times arent the best either. Overall great hotel just not ideal in terms of location
"Our favorite resort in Thailand "
As our 3 week journey around Thailand comes to an end, I must say Shasa resort has been our favorite. From check in the check out, the hotel has handled all of our activities. They help you rent a scooter or car, book activities outside the island(they even got us a special promotion on a 1-day snorkeling trip) and the spa package was very relaxing. I would recommend Shasa to anyone coming to Samui!
