The Sheraton Abu Dhabi Hotel & Resort is located at the splendid corniche in the capital city of the United Arab Emirates. Along with being a ‘green city', thanks to its many tree-lined avenues and parks, Abu Dhabi is also becoming a vibrant and bustling city and is on the verge of transforming itself into a truly global city - planned to be a centre for the fine arts.
"One of the unlucky ones"
Unfortunately, we are one of the unlucky visitors who experienced not a bad service but just unfortunate events. Leaked in our toilet (my friend almost slipped) and very slow internet 😔 I hope next time it will be a better experience, nonetheless hotel met our other expectations 👍🏼
"Formula 1 week in the Middle East , almost perfect!"
I have done a few different locations around the world, but I found there was so little information on places to stay during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend when I was doing my research I felt the need to write something for people wishing to visit this amazing global event in the future. The Sheraton hotel and resort Abu Dhabi, well how can I sum it up, certainly nice, clean, comfortable, pleasant, polite helpful staff, and great service, good food, along with a frequent stream of taxis. Both my wife and I have said this was probably the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in, rooms are not massive, but why would they need to be' It's an area you should spend little time if you're in town to really sample the culture, seems to me bragging rights come into it as soon as you mention this luxurious part of the world, I don't understand this obsession with size 😀 The beach area seems to be a bone of contention with some, it is advertised as a lagoon, and that's exactly what it is, a small inlet surrounded by high rise and masses of concrete, sounds horrid, but it's actually quite a nice place to chill after a busy few days at the circuit, and it definitely gets more sun than the pool. Niggles we had were few but did slightly tarnish the experience, and the reason we only gave it 4 stars. Coffee in the room was very limited (4 small cups per day, some days only 2 for us both to share), mini bar and associated snacks were extortionately priced, variation of beverage prices/volumes across the venue probably being the most annoying. Let me elaborate, buy an alcoholic drink in the Mexican restaurant, and get a pint of, with 10% service, 6% tourist, and 4% municipality fee included in the menu price, go to the outdoor B Lounge, and the charges are not included (the only mention being small print right at the bottom of the menu), it's obviously not a legal requirement to include it like in the UK, it is in principal 20% VAT but named differently, drinks available also vary, some bars serve pints, some only bottles which only contain half the volume, but cost the same or more. Don't get the impression I like a skin full, I'm quite happy with a pint or two in the evening with my dinner followed with a coffee and something sweet, it just gets a touch irritating when you pay 29AED for a pint then move bars in the same hotel and pay 35AED for 330ml, you do the math, we are not talking small change. We loved El Sombrero, the fajitas were excellent, La Mamma's pizzas were ok nothing special, flavours restaurant had really good quality food, particularly the a'la carte menu. Expect to pay on average 300AED total for two main courses and two drinks each (alcohol or not) within the hotel, wine starts at 180AED a bottle upwards. Taxi costs to Yas Marina were very reasonable, but can vary dependant on the route taken but typically between 60-80 AED, the city route being 10-20 AED more than the outskirts rustic route (the one all the lorries take). This hotel was a great base for our 8 day stay, should we visit again we will once again check out the Sheraton while looking for a place to stay.
"Stay for Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Weekend"
We enjoyed a weeks stay at the Sheraton Abu Dhabi for the F1 weekend. It was reasonably priced and in a perfect location on the Corniche. Taxis are cheap in Abu Dhabi and Yas Marina Circuit is only 20 mins away. Breakfast was amazing with Arabic, Sushi and European choices at a huge buffet including fresh baked bread and pastries, smoothies, egg and pancake station, pork items and fresh squeezed orange juice.the hotel is traditional style with 2 swimming pools, private beach, cocktail bar and Spanish, Italian, Lebanese and Mexican restaurants.
"Hotel Bonito y Muy,muy bueno,,,"
We had a great week stay at this hotel. Excellent breakfast buffet at the Flavours Restaurant,The pools and garden are very relaxing and enjoyable . We also enjoyed our meals at the Mexican restaurant and especially at the Italian restaurant La Mamma! complimentary drinks at the Cloud Nine Bar and the lady's are so nice and friendly most especially the tall lady :) :) (Thanks to you) The rooms were luxurious, especially the bathrooms which had a bathtub and a shower with a "rain shower head.free wireless in the room, etc." The gym looked great - unfortunately, we didn't have time to take advantage of these facilities. The staff was throughout our whole stay consistently helpful and courteous. Gracias a todos, y esperamos verte de nuevo ,,, sí, porque me encanta estar en este hotel,,, Hasta Luego
Staff are very friendly we stayed for race weekend, it is pricey in the restaurants but there is a little café which was reasonable to grab a snack or a drink. Its a 30 minute Taxi ride to the circuit so its about AED 60 each way. Rooms are small and not much window or balcony, could do with taking the big desks and chair out in the semi circle bit of the room and opening it up. Tea making is available but no milk supplied. Telly is poor in regards to channels available to the English visitor. The pool area was fantastic but not as big as it looks in the photos, also it seems to be in the shade either one side or the other very few places that stayed in the sun all day. The beach area is not a beach, yes it has sand but its a lagoon and you cannot go for a walk or see the sea only buildings and a road, but its okay if you want to chill.
