"Just a hotel"
Spent only one night but coming into the hotel lobby a mildew smell invaded all. Dated hotel. Location was good and service was excellent. That is one point to note. BFast was very good but basic on the offering. The restaurant at night had little to offer and food was not as good as it should be in a Sheraton. The room on the other side was good, minimalist. Did not use any other amenities. Saw a huge pool and some other ar as I could not use. Would consider some other hotel if to return to Salvador. Hope it helps.
"Wonderful time for a LOL-Little Old Lady"
I booked one room to accommodate my mother-in-law (83yo) and sister-in-law (60yo) during a family reunion trip that we had in Salvador. Staff at the hotel were very helpful and polite to them. Great location for them to walk around the Campo Grande Park and to catch a taxi to Shopping Barra.
I stayed for two nights at this hotel. The bedrooms are big, clean, confortable. The only thing to complain about is that there is coffee facilities in the room, but the only cup provided was dirty from the previous guest. I washed it and made some tea, but after the room service the next day, I noticed they didnt't wash it again . The checkout took forever, lots of people to leave, and the two girls at the guest service were taking too long to finished each one, and apparently were not bothered at all. So, don't go to check out in a rush .
"Slow Service, Poor Lounge, Broken Promises"
There are so many things wrong about this hotel. First, the service is horrendous. We went to the bar to have food many times and it would regularly take 45 min to 1 hr+ to get our food even when the bar was empty. My wife ordered espressos during breakfast several times over the course of the stay and they gave her coffee from the coffee pot and wouldn't admit they weren't espressos. I paid for a club room with lounge access. The lounge is laughable. The lounge itself is tiny, has no keycard access so anybody can enter it, and is not staffed 4 out of the 5 times we visited it. The food at the lounge is the leftover from the breakfast buffet. No alcoholic beverages were included. Only diet sodas. I was very disappointed and I voiced my concern to the front desk and was told that the manager would speak to me the next day and that the lounge would be staffed from then on. The manager never reached out and the lounge was still not staffed an hour after we spoke to them. We were told that we would be able to get an upgrade an SPG gold member if we checked back the day after check-in. We did and we were told that there was never enough inventory for an upgrade. So the staff are apathetic, lied on multiple occasions, and are rude. The food is decent, but expect to wait a long time for it.
"Dodgy Neighborhood but Okay Hotel"
The area is a little dodgy. The staff was quite clear to return to our rooms by dark and be careful when walking around. Right across the street is a park with playground and we saw some drug addicts and other unsavory characters. We are from NYC, so no stranger to that, but still want to make people aware. Just watch your surroundings. Don't pull out cameras or phones. During the day, we felt pretty safe. We took our kids to the playground and they had fun. The hotel is nice, but had a weird smell in the lobby, like mildew. Make sure breakfast is included when you book your hotel because it's not always included. The rooms are a good size and we had a nice view. The pool is in the shade most of the day, but it's nice. The deck was nice to hang out on. Service was decent, not overly friendly but fine. It's close to the mall and the lighthouse.Taxis are always outside, would recommend over taking the bus. The breakfast was good with lots of choices and the restaurant staff was polite.
