"Below average experience "
This is an ok hotel, nothing memorable. I'm giving it 2 stars instead of 3 because, given the high level of competition in this area, it definitely feels below average. Pros -- Fitness center larger than average and open 24 hours. -- Good location Cons -- Real lack of dining options for a large conference hotel. The casual restaurant was closed at lunch one day (don't know if this is always the case), steakhouse and bar only have food at dinner, burger place only open in summer, and only lunch option was the coffee shop. This seems odd for a hotel of this size. -- Service only ok. Around 10:30pm one night, a lightbulb from a standing lamp in my room suddenly crashed for the floor, shattering loudly into a hundred pieces. It was only a foot away from me and caused a fright (and could have actually injured me if I had been in a slightly different place). Somebody cleaned it up right away, but even if this was a totally random fluke, I would have expected some "hey are you ok" follow up the next day.
"Conference Visit...suitable. "
While there on business and the conference being held in the hotel, it was highly convenient. Now while it's a great place for a conference, the conference breakout rooms themselves were quite compact and facilities are not within easily accessible areas. The service was fantastic, food was just ok, the the location was clean but the rooms may need a bit of an update. All in all, a very suitable hotel for a brief conference
"Staff is amazing!!"
I met the most amazing person at this hotel, Annie Price, who was cleaning rooms on the 22nd floor and greeted me so warmly, learned my name, and was so amazingly kind and caring. She deserves all the praise in the world. And all the staff I encountered were fantastic.
"Perfect hotel for a weekend getaway!"
I stayed here over the weekend with the girlfriend and we really enjoyed it. Parking was convenient, the location was great for walking to some main attractions, and the property was nice. Upon checking in, the gentleman working the front desk was friendly and personable. The line was quick and we were headed to our room with out much delay. The room was nice and it was clean, but there was nothing special about it. The bed was comfortable. I really liked the edge lit mirror in the bathroom. The hotel has a big workout room, a sun deck (too cold for us to use it though), and a decent size pool. There are locker rooms by the workout room and pool that even has a sauna. Check out was easy, no unexpected charges. Over the weekend we walked to the magnificent mile, giordano's, the field museum, the Signature Room, and millennium park. We used Uber one time to get to Wrigleyville which was an $8 ride.
"Old & needs attention"
Checked in for a business trip. Front Desk attendant was lovely & charming. I asked if there were any rooms with a King bed, but I was assigned a room with 2 double beds. The room does boast a view overlooking the river which is quite nice. The room itself, though, needs some love. The furniture is chipped & stained. The walls are stained. The shower curtain is stained. There are no distinguishing features that make the room stand out in a positive way. Definitely a disappointing hotel experience & definitely not 4-star hotel material.
