"Among the newest and nicest guest rooms in central London"
Let's face it, most London hotels have dingy, oldish guest rooms. In contrast, this classic hotel boasts modern, well-designed luxuriously appointed rooms. Bathrooms are quite nice and my bed was quite comfortable. Room size is average by London standards, meaning that it's smaller than North American-style. For an extra delight try the high tea service, which is one of the most delightful in London. as an added bonus the location can't be beat. The only inconveniences I found were smallish-sized elevators and an annoying iPod touring guide next to the nightstand.
"Newly renovated & excellent location!"
They were still renovating about half the guest rooms during the time of my stay, but all the public spaces were done. I stayed at this hotel prior a few years back, which at the time it was very tired looking. It's not that same hotel anymore! The renovations are absolutely beautiful, bringing to life the 20's Art Deco style. The Palm Court is an excellent spot for afternoon tea, or an evening night cap. They had just opened Mercante for dinners my last night, so didn't get a chance to try. It was only open in the morning, so we went there for breakfast every day. They have a good selection for the "all you can eat" or you can order a la carte. The room was very well appointed, fresh and clean. Some of the rooms can be quite small (common for London), I had a very large King room so felt it was enough space. The only negative for my stay was the hotel having only 1 elevator...I'd often take the stairs as the wait could be a while. With the renovations done, this hotel is now one of my favorites in London! It provides luxurious accommodations/atmosphere and an excellent location (steps away from Buckingham palace, Hyde Park) that can't be beat!
"Romantic Valentines Afternoon Tea"
I purchased a voucher for the afternoon tea for my partner as a xmas gift. we decided to use it over the valentines weekend and make it part of a day in London. We arrived early and as it was cold outside I went in to see if we were able to bring our booking forward. We were seated immediately without any fuss but friendly staff. We had the valentines champagne afternoon tea which was delicious. The staff were very helpful and didnt make a fuss when I explained I had a nut allergy, they just simply gave us a different selection. the food was outstanding, all with a valentines theme, even down to heart shaped scones! The staff weren't pushy and gave us plenty of time, they were also very knowledgeable about the food and the vast selection of teas that we had to choose from. there was a harpist playing which was wonderful. An all round amazing experience which we loved.
"Quite good hotel, great location"
I've stayed here years ago and then recently after the renovations were completed. The renovations have really turned this hotel back into the gem it should be! Excellent location across Green Park, near Hyde Park, and a short walk up to Piccadilly Circus. I loved the Art Deco decor of the renovated rooms and common areas. The breakfast was adequate, not great. Definitely a nicer than normal Sheraton property. I will definitely consider this hotel on my next trip to London.
